Yeah thats the reason I went for an older car in lesser condition, I wanted to learn as much as I can about cars and do most of the work myself, will do a write up about puttin the clutch back in on Thursday.

Alright, so we put it back in, sorry not many photos of actually doing it, I was busy, sore, dirty and running out of daylight because my mate came round when he finished work because hes so awesome, but this left us with little time, we finished it about 8:30 at night. All in all 5 and a half hours isn't bad for my first clutch replacement and his first on the ground, well to me that pretty good.

Anyways, so the gearbox mount (the long brace-like object) turned out to be alloy of some sort after cleaning it, was so suprised, but theres is HEAPS of grease, oil, dirt and crap attached to the under side of my car its insane, so I cleaned the main area and thats about it.

Anyways, my new organic clutch.

Image

Machined flywheel, they did a great job, no sign of the hotspots grooves etc. Same step height and cheap, highly recommended, Gold Coast Brake And Clutch.

Image

I was outside for an hour and my back got burnt, very unusual for me, took twice as much degreaser as I had first thought but the box was reasonably clean.

Image

And the new pressure plate, will take some getting used to, no where near as much movement etc. But a new clutch that actually bites is something to get used to as well as it engaging right on the ground etc.

Image

So thats all done, hopefully another eventful update within the next few weeks :D

Yeah, attempting to hide my dirty dodgy looking car haha. Need to fix up my bonnet and front lip, but just haven't had the time or money... or the right use of my money haha.

So my center consoles glove box clip broke a few weeks back, finally got round to fixing it, after trying for a while to replicate the metal clip that was originally there I found an easier way to do it, so I pulled the spring out of a pen and wound it through the hole at the bottom as far as it could go before wanting to go sideways and not really work. So it's fixed, has a light feel to it compared to stock but it shuts and doesn't flap about so i'm happy.

So my brake rotors came in today, ordered my pads yesterday but they're going to take a whole month to get made and delivered :( Other than that there was a small army of ants in my car this afternoon, just to make my day that little bit worse haha.

So brakes went in yesterday, still bedding them in but feels epic. RDA slotted rotors and QFM A1RM pads, was all a lot easier than I thought it would be. My documenting of it all is pretty poor but we didn't have much time and I was covered in brake dust for most of it/

So out with the old.

Waiting to be awesomafied.

So I was in a car accident today, not my fault, and I don't have pictures, but my passenger front end, from the wheel forward is messed up, will find out how bad it is hopefully tomorrow.

Nah both me and the old lady are fine, she was a bit shaken though, only got a quick glance but looks like radiator support, bumper, front quarter panel, light, hood and maybe, but hopefully not, wheel well damage and probably need a wheel alignment haha.

Glad to hear your both ok, fingers crossed it can get fixed and back to 100% asap.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I've been really slack and really busy, so I got the car back, they painted it matt instead of satin but I dont really mind, would be better if the whole car were like that hahaha. Everything is pretty well done, except now my headlight doesn't sit flush and they go up and down at different times :/. Also, being young and dumb I made a grill for my bumper, then painted teeth on it. Don't worry, i'll paint it all black probably monday.

So I pay off the rest of my loan monday, then I can finally start saving and get some work done!
