You should never pay full price for a car. I've had a lot of cars and never paid list price for any of them and that includes cars that were ordered pre release like the 350Z (what a mistake that was) or cars purchased at the peak of their popularity like the Mustang. Some dealers won't shift, some will even try and go above list, but if you're willing to do the leg work and you know how to negotiate you'll always find one that will give you a deal. My best deal to date was $17k off list and that was a current year plate so called "special edition".

Really, you are off topic. This forum is about cars, namely the MX5 and that's what I'm here for. I care about as much for your financial advice, as I do about your religion and sexual orientation. This is a private matter, and like all of us, you'll lose or gain in proportion to your wisdom or stupidity, luck or no luck. However, on a general level, by all means be rational, just remember that your specific reasons are relative to you, and certainly not to me. I don't need to consider your reasons. It would perhaps come into play with something like an Alfa 4C spider. Lol, your reasoning wouldn't even be applicable to the Nismo Z that I'll surely purchase at the end of the year. Now, can we all go back on topic. BTW, where is the old guard, like Kev? Gee I like doing him over like a well done steak!

Pete's OK ! He's happy to show us his new car and all he gets is naysayers. I sorta think some people are being a bit rude.

Agree bruce - this new thread should be read in a different/new light to Pete's previous one. It's great that there is a happy MX5 owner enjoying a car we all appreciate.

Ok firstly, this has been posted in the MX-5 General Chat section. You will receive general MX-5 chat.
Secondly I have been posting about cars the whole time. In fact most of what I have typed is MX-5 related which makes sense as this is a MX-5 forum. The pricing of a MX-5 is MX-5 related. Past MX-5 LE's are related and I am just pointing out how different the pricing structure is now compared to back then. Am I not allowed to have an opinion on the price and comparing it to the past models in the general chat section? So where am I saying anything unrelated to cars or more specifically MX-5's other than to reply to this post? Pulling out a few words which makes it look like the only thing I am posting is dollar related without the rest of the information around it means nothing.

You do realise you have an open topic in a active forum right? You will get responses. Not all will be to your ideals or liking.
Please use the MX-5 garage chat section if you want a topic specifically about your car. I will guarantee you will get far less people replying in that area of the forum.

This thread has taught me 2 things:

1. Disagreeing with OP is completely pointless
2. Recipient of this rf le deserves a Ferrari or something similar

That is all

Well, you guys are silly, as we all know not to feed the trolls. You don't respond and they disappear back under their bridge.

I'm also enjoying that thread at present. I can have multiple streams of entertainment!

This forum has it all from comedy and drama through to informative and technical, and the occasional travel thread as well. There's even motorsports from time to time. Better than reality TV!

You will be up for some great entertainment.

Could we have a special category for RF owners, and in particular, a sub category for the Ltd Ed RF? Since these are such special cars, especially the rare Ltd Ed RF, many people like me, and prospective buyers who'd like special advice from actual Ltd Ed RF owners like me, would like their own separate space to discuss matters. Someone looking for advice, from an actual owner like me, on a Ltd Ed RF would never consider something so quaint and nostalgic as a na or nb.

Now I know it may seem a bit rich to ask for a separate space for the Ltd Ed RF, but these are such rare and special cars, they deserve their own category. As an actual owner, I don't really want to mix with na and nb types, if you know what I mean. Someone with an interest in the Ltd Ed RF would specifically head hunt me for advice, and it would be so much easier if we had our own category to discuss our specialized interest in the Ltd Ed RF.

The MX5 has grown up from its poor humble roots and the Ltd Ed RF is a car that professionals desire to own. So you can see why there is an urgent need for our own category. It also hurts the image of the Ltd Ed RF to have it mixed with the na or nb. This is another reason for a separate category. The na or nb is somewhat embarrassing to be seen in for a professional, when their colleagues are driving latest European cars. I hope people will sympathize with my, and future owners of the Ltd ED RF, predicament. This can all be solved by a special category for us.

In recognition of the fact that the MX5 has evolved, moved on and is now a great car, as manifested by the Ltd Ed RF, I give the mods my permission to update the banner of this site with my Ltd Ed RF. The images are all yours guys!
