So the weekend was pretty successful in that nothing broke...except records ;) I got a new PB of 1:13.68...kind of. MX5 club use different timing points as many of you know, so this time was not recorded on my racechrono. I did however get several 1:13.9's and an optimum time of 1:12.8.

I ceebs typing right now, so here's a few pics:

Havent checked brake pad wear yet, but this is rotor wear after road driving

After first session:

So I don't have high hopes for pad wear

My fav car of the day; a BMW 2002 sports sedan with an original M10 block and F1 heads with a big f*uck off turbo

New roll bar rocked up:

It fell out, I swear....
Image

It was removed for two reasons:
1-it has holes in it, so is useless for water protection
2-i dont have to put the roll bar in around it!!! (mostly this reason)

It is going to be painted black, and I am currently looking into getting a brace made to connect the top bar with the passenger footwell

That's the MX5 Plus Tall boy, right? Did you take any reference shots of the two different bars installed to show the different positioning, by any chance?

Video looks great Mitch. Nice driving! That turn 3 entry is exactly the same line I use. It's a little bumpy, but you're off the ripple by the time you turn in anyway so it's pretty stable.

I'd be interested to see a side profile view, just to see how much further forward and how much higher it sits.

So just inspected pads and they are uneven....TRUCK!!!

This is really annoying me now; i have essentially thrown away $400 in making my pads uneven.

Things it can't be:
-rotor
-pads
-pins
-bracket

Thing it is:
-caliper

Well colour me annoyed!!

Also, I discovered on the way down that my indicator mod is near impossible to see during the day ( ), also that my tyre is scrubbing only my front left wheel arch ( ), also RMS is leaking again ( ). Sometimes I think this car is out to get me!!!!

So I had an oil leak from gearbox area, and decided to investigate, thinking it was the RMS which I had decided I hadn't inserted far enough. I replaced RMS as a precaution, but also decided it may have come from the sump bolt due to the collection of oil on that side of the rear of the engine. I also decided to do a few other little things while gearbox was out. Here are some pictures:

Wilwoods seems the only option..

Your inner guard is still in better condition than my front left :)

Brown pants moment, was looking good up to that point!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
