Well we had perfect weather for the last round of the Vic s.s at winton yesterday. I guessed I would get a time of 1:40, and on the 1st practice session managed a 1:41 not even trying. So new it would be quick. The wing works so well on the back that it has dented the boot about 15-20mm at the back edge of the boot near the curve. A strong part. And I had so much understeer. I kept playing with the wing, and tyre/ shock settings, and every session I went faster. Ended the day with a 1:38.0014. If only I went 2 one thousands faster and put me into the 1:37's... That makes it only 1.2 seconds slower than my stripped out turbo na6. Shows how much faster it is going around corners, because the turbo car accelerated much faster.

That's such good feedback, now once you combine the aero package and a built motor, your pb should fall!

With the wing, have you considered new brackets going in thru the rear fascia on an angle changing the way the pressure is applied? Perhaps to a bar welded onto the boot floor? Is your boot reinforced into the boot well?

Many cars @ WTAC 2012 had issues with braking wing mount locations due to high wing and increased pressures.

I made the wing assembly in a few minutes. And I know about making mounts to the body, but it is more than a five minute job. The total price for the wing was $60, so I think it is very good value. It is awesome to feel the aero working.

Sorry my comment wasn't based on time, but function aspect. I think you made a great wing for time invested!

Check out the wool tufts on the wing. I wool tuft tested all the bonnet vents, then i did fastback, and the wing. everything checked out really well with attached flow, and in the direction i expected. The wing worked so well, beyond what i could have imagined. Need some front aero now. Massive understeer all day. You can see in the pic i dropped the aoa down as low as i could get it to get some steering back.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Did you notice any difference in top speeds by comparison to your old hardtop/wing setup.
Does the new layout favour higher straight line speeds, by staying lower and using the coupes shape to apply downforce?

I have never done winton long in this car, so have no previous data. But i compared my speeds to brendans data in the first sessions. And all speeds where higher, including the max speeds at the end of straights. The fastback was helping to keep the air flow smooth. When Brendan uploads the video with data you will see it bottoming out on the sweeper. Rough ride, but stuck like glue to the track.
