My Garage Vary front lip arrived yesterday

So after a month of living on the couch in the spare room, my front lip is now on (stupid uni, haven't had even a few hours free before dark to install this until now ). Really simple process, only issue was realising that my current numberplate mount wouldn't work. Jumped back on here to see how other people had made theirs and ended up running with a side mounted one off the front left tow hook.

I'd normally run through all my incredibly complicated step-by-step pictures, but this was so uncomplicated it didn't even get that. For anyone who's interested; remove the outside bolt on each side of the front bumper, place lip, put those two bolts back in, drill holes in bumper where the holes are in the lip, put bolts through holes. Tada!

You can't see it from this photo but from some angles you could see the bracket itself. Getting it off for quick blast of black spray paint fixed that though.



Priorities mainly involve moving out of home at the moment but once thats sorted, focus should be back on the car. Not completely sold on the idea yet but I'm feeling small-ish flares and some new wheels, quickly followed by more low.

Hard top also got dropped off for paint yesterday. Hopefully should have that back soon.

Edit: Also ordering slim line black plates on Tuesday. Didn't mind the giant plates on the old bracket but they just look wrong now.

To make the most of the long weekend, I decided to hook into cleaning the interior before the rain hit today.

Within about 30second of trying to get the crap out from under the seat I decided it was a horrible idea and out they came. Now I had never taken my seats out before in not quite 18months of ownership and wow there was some crap under there...

Spent a good few minutes on each of the scuff plates but they are really shiny now

Ordered plates today
White writing on black plastic, slimline for the front, full size rear.

Just got the existing plate redone for the moment, but also put my name down for a specific basic plate if it ever becomes available.

Hardtop is painted and ready to be picked up as of yesterday, I just couldn't get off work in time to go get it. Might be able to get it on Monday, more likely Tuesday though.
Did finally get around to installing the side striker plates for the hardtop today though. If you were ever interested in how to, its really quite simple...

1. Mark holes where bolts need to go


2. Drill holes for bolts and progressively make holes bigger until the striker plate fits


3. Bolt striker plate into place


Tada!

Cheers More low is in the 'to do soon' pile.

I paid a visit to the body shop last week and figured out which seals were missing from the hardtop. The Carco lads ordered them in for me and they should be here soon. After picking up the busted hardtop only 18months-ish ago I will finally have it on the car!
