Re: Michaels' NA6
Congrats on paying off your MX! It's great feeling.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: Michaels' NA6
So i've been awfully slack for updating this but hey.
So not all that much has happened but heres what i've done, changed the oil in my shifter turret, made a massive difference to shift feel. Changed my oil, painted the grill black, put my car under a truck for teh lolz. Hit 200000km. Changed the cups for my soft top, changed my clutch master cylinder, it started to engage when I held the pedal down long enough which usually indicates a leaking seal which it proved to be. Other than that just been helping other people with their cars and doing some other forms of speedhunting haha.

My shifter turret oil, this is just the stuff that was actually fine enough to be sucked up, the rest, a tar like substance, was removed with a cloth and screwdriver haha.

So that soft top cup I was talking about, the comparison was of the better one, not enough left of the other to get a photo of.

Awesome workshop shot haha.

And the now matt side of my car, I dont mind it but id prefer it all be the same sheen level haha.

Re: Michaels' NA6
So I decided to clean up my interior a bit.
The centre console glove box got really hot in the sun and always looked kind of dirty and wasn't overly comfortable so I started by cutting off the top layer of plastic. I then filled the space inside with foam.
Then I put another layer of foam over the whole thing and the fabric over that piece of foam, its only held down by glue but its screwed in as well and seems to be holding for now. I had pictures of the process too but you can't really see what I was doing.

I also had a hole under my stereo which previously was completely blocked off but when I put my new head unit in the blocking piece didn't fit so i've had a blank hole there for a while, so I made a basic box out of some thin MDF and covered that in the fabric too, other than that just been taking care of little things like window washer jets and fixing as many rattles as I can etc.

Re: Michaels' NA6
Once again i've been pretty slack, but I have a few exciting things, rims should be here this coming week so new tires etc.
Otherwise, since last time i've acquired more stickers for my roll bar.

Made a new mdf cover plate thing as my old one was warped because of the water that got into my boot through the old seals which i also replaced, I made the plate bigger because of my longboards in the boot it would tend to destroy it otherwise.

Wrapped it in houndstooth as well because the carpet no longer covers it.

Seals.

Crooz and Mr. Pham got me a number plate bracket for my birthday.

And with the rims coming I pulled out my inner fenders to find I may be riding a little low...

So unfortunately its looking like i'll be raising my car when the rims come in because they will stick out like 70mm further than the daisy's.
Also got a new air intake setup.

Still have to clean the bay where the old intake was and put in place my cold air piping to take it to the filter but already it has heaps better throttle response and is a lot smoother in general running, my pedal actually feels a little different but I think thats just because the engine is running smoother.
So thats my update till rims come in.

Re: Michaels' NA6
Finally, rims went on Monday, now who says our cars aren't practical?

So tread wise went from this. Yes, that is a nail.

To this, so traction is HEAPS better, just doesn't want to let go.

Where they sat went from this.

To this, the whole steering feel is more responsive as well as lighter.

So I needed to get my guards rolled, which has been done but now I have to fix my paint, which i just spent the last 3 hours attempting on one corner to only make things worse.

So all in all went from this.

To this.

For the awesome.

Re: Michaels' NA6
In other news, one of my headlights blew.

So I figured I had better fix that. I went with white bulbs, doesn't look like it in this, but they are white.

Difference lighting wise.

I also changed it to clear glass lights.

Looks as clean as it's going to get haha.

Now as I get my opens next week I took the P plate off the rear garnish to find it had destroyed all the paint under it because of the moisture and heat, so I gave it a sand and painted it grey for now, Ill fix that when I do all the other panels.

Cannot wait to see the changes in person. I'm digging the different coloured rear garnish as well! You will have to teach me how to spray paint one day
