The car was involved in a hit and run accident on Saturday afternoon. A Nissan patrol came into my lane and pushed me into the gutter causing some damage to both sides of the car inc both side skirts and the front bumper.

You can see the cracked side skirt and damage to the door also.

Image

Seeing as both of the skirts were damaged I decided to bin the pair and get stuck in on the repairs.
The damage to the door popped out with next to no effort and no creases either so pretty happy with that.
Got to sanding and prepping the sides of the car so I can paint it tommorow night.

An update on race prep for the event. I have found a trailer supplier who will be able to get me a setup that meets all of my needs and budget. Very impressed indeed, It's a few weeks away still but I will post up some photos as soon as I get a chance to get it.

Have also placed the deposit on a new tow vehicle. As much as I wanted the bt50 (it's so incredibly ugly) so after already having two for work I have settled on the new ranger. Which should also be here by the end of January.
Am going with the same spec as my last work ute (see below) except it will be black and have some chunkier wheels and tires .

I also forgot to put up these photos from just before the little bingle the other week.

Ok have been a little quiet on here due to work commitments as of late but small progress is better than none at all. Managed to fit up the bonnet pins this week and also had the gearbox out to do the rear main and clutch slave. While that was out I cleaned up all the welds inside the exhaust piping and had to drill out all the studs I broke in the exhaust hahaha. Also have been fiddling a with cooling system modifications and have begun making my own bottom rad cover and also did the top too but I will throw up some pics of that when they are complete.
Am also looking at doing a coolant reroute but am unable to find something that I'm 100% happy with so I may just make up my own kit to suit. Anywho here's a few more happy snaps along the way this week.
Thanks for reading guys.

Just to show it is all done in the garage at home haha.

Somehow thought this was a good time for a photo whilst playing cars at lunch.

Made up a top radiator cover today to try and help with airflow through the radiator. It's fits very snug and I will put some foam around the base to help it seal and stop vibration also. It's much easier as I only have to drill the bonnet pin holes through it to have it mount nice and strong.

Should also say the car is back up on the stands as the new slave cylinder I bought is already leaking from the piston seal rendering the clutch useless. Only got 2 days out of it argh.

Basically yes it's amazing how one rim alone on that truck weighs more than the mx5 lol. It's only a small truck too...

That is not a monster a 797 or a T282B is, a MX5 would pass right under and you could put the weight of almost 400 MX5's in the rear!

Nothing really worth mentioning but the car is still on track for completion this year there's lots of little things being organized but nothing worth photos haha.
I have been lucky enough to have redback racing help me out with organizing my self and all of the logistics of what , when , where and how I'm going Tarmac racing.
These guys are currently dominating the showroom class in their Renault megane's at the moment and are a great motivation to keep me on track to reach my goal.

Quick one , tonight I got myself some carbon fibre from work and made up the cover plate for all of the radio and tray underneath that I had removed. Pretty happy with it so far . I used 3mm carbon fibre sheet to make the plate . have marked it out for my Isolation switch and the two gauges which will now go in it's place. Next up tonight is the centre console delete with once more switches and parts from work.
Enjoy

Me too hahaha

Did a little more tonight. Finished among the straight through pipe tonight after work. It's not as loud as I thought it would be which is somewhat a plus but still sounds obnoxiously raspy which I'm kinda liking lol.
