m1028 1996- 300 made, 185 white, rest dk blue.
In addition to body strengthening the 1028 had a lightened flywheel and mods to the engine to produce 140bhp.

Re: Wassup's Na6 - Toad
Express update:
With the help of Yem11n we replaced the stock swaybars for factory spec Flyin miata sway bars. The results are noticable. The car now feels much lighter and more nimble due to less roll. Although FM states that the bars have stock specs, and we used the recommended settings, the car feels like its tyres have been inflated a few extra Psi. The antique Sony CD player also skipped its first time yesterday too. Overall the car very much feels like an original Mx5 i drove 20 years ago... nice!
Replaced sparke plugs. Despite having a very extensive service history i couldnt determine when the Spark Plugs had been last changed through invoices. Out came the Denso's and in a new set of Bosch. On inspecting the original plugs the engine seems to be tuned right so i wasnt expecting anything amazing. Driving back to the city from North Rocks and then out to Belmoral beach the car definately seems perkier and smoother especially from low RPM.
Whilst under the car i did notice that the alternator belt had a crack so this will need to be changed soonish.

Great work..
Also you should add how heavy your wheels are.
I took my SE wheels off to weight them and I got 18.1kg for wheel + tyres (205/40/17)

Gee...when I went from 16s to 15s, I dropped ~3kg per wheel (can't remember exactly, see my garage thread). You'd be dropping a whole lot more than that!
No wonder the SE guys say the biggest "upgrade" is going to 15s!

Re: Wassup's Na6 - Toad
I'd just like to take a moment to admire you for the amazing attention to detail you are taking with your car. I love learning new things you can do to maintain the car, you have shown some cool stuff here
I'm really looking forward to continue reading about what you do with it.
One thing i learnt a while ago and thought i would pass on was tensioning the throttle cable. From the many MX5's i have seen, it's amazing how many of them have so much extra slack. A quick tighten and the throttle response improves out of sight!
Cheers,
Cheyne

Cheers Cheyne. I really appreciate the feedback from you Bizi and others.
I also enjoy reading the interesting stories others have as they modify their 5's. I've wondered a few times if I should bother continuing my story as I figure a factory resto really wasn't going to be as interesting....
