More updates yay!!
1: finished making and painting the radiator top cowling and my base cowling also. Haven't had a great chance to drive the car yet to see if temps have come down a bit.

2: picked up the new hardtop today so pretty pumped about that so straight into it tonight to do the fitting, all went well and fits great. We will start prepping now for the building of the 6 point cage in the coming weeks ahead.

Also should mention that I replaced all of the engines vacuum lines as some had perished. Also re-did all of the fuel lines in braid as some of those had also begun to perish.

Took the car for a little drive today and found the hardtop was leaking air through of the windscreen seal so with a few minor adjustments on the hardtop mounts had it sealed and working much better .
Made up some adjustable links for the swaybars with some spare links I had lying around the shop.

Only a few weeks until I start stripping the car for the cage to start so trying to do as much work as possible .
Did a bit over 400klms of testing last week over the snottiness bumpiest roads we could find. The car was pretty great and the new coilover settings and alignment have put the car back where it needs to be. Will be sticking with the bc coilovers now 100%.
It did take a fair bit of stuffing about with settings and spring preload adjustment to get the car running just right.

The cows came for a look too lol.

Scored a free diff so started stripping it and cleaning it, so the kaaz can go in. Unfortunately I will still need a spare also so going to build this one fit it in the car then rebuild the current one from the car with a kaaz also.

Geez it's more than a little quiet in here.
Realized I may have a slight issue with running the cage with the new lexan quarters as they have air ducts. So
Going to put these in so we have no issues with clearance on the front loop.

Windows in had some earlier concerns about clearance for the cage but it's all going to be ok now. Anyways blah blah blah here's some photos.

Airflow is good inside the car the air is right on your chest / arms so it should really help to keep me cool, also the co driver etc etc lol.

Managed to sneak in some time this weekend after being stuck with the flu all week.
So Saturday saw the complete rear end wiring , lights , fuel filler hoses .... Everything was out !
Shout out to the cat for well um I'm actually not sure what she did apart from glare at me when I moved her from the car.

Sunday today saw a little more action happen too with all of the interior coming out apart from the carpet because dinner was calling. So this week the wiring shall be complete and all sound deadening removed. After the cage is done the interior will all be painted black with a grip tape and alloy steps in the floor.

Almost forgot to mention that I got the isolator test fitted in place before disassembly.

A huge thanks to the guys for hooking me up with a couple of sets of sprint v's for the car. Also picked up a set of scuff plates for it too. As I know I will probably make a few marks without them.

So stripped the interior completely last night right up to the firewall so it can all be colour arched and have the sound deadening cleaned out. Test fitted the seats too. I do fear that they still may be too high but if that's the case I may cut the original seat mounts off the floor and make up some custom ones.

So a few spanners have been thrown into the works with the release of the new targa manual in regards to car modification. We will need to make a few small changes to the car but nothing minor. Like I have to retain the factory airbox and a new minimum weight has been introduced so everything will need to be spot on with weights as it's a minimum 10min penalty for any weight infractions.
Have been away for a few weeks so getting the car back on the ground so we can get it to the cage builders this week.

Cool project. Hardtop is cool too. I haven't read it all, are you building it for targa racing?

Awesome project!

Where did you get the hardtop from and what does it weigh? Are you happy enough with the fitment now?

Cheers
