Thought I might contribute to the section. Here are a couple crappy phone pics of the na6 I bought in 06 as a stocker. I have since made a couple of minor mods.

At QR before any of the 'more recent additions' it has done a 68.11 on the clubaman circuit and a 64.19 on the sprint circuit.

After driving this car I have to say it is FREAKING COOL! Much love for the 6 speed and 4.3:1 diff!

coooooool

wouln't you be running out of legs real quick in the 6 speed and a 4.3 final drive?

Depends what you consider real quick Stan, I havn't been there but the calculations show that with a 6 speed and 4.3 it should still see 210kph at 7k rpm in 6th, which I wouldnt often be doing anyhow, and it does pickup very quickly compared to stock. Just from the limited street driving I have done with the 6speed so far it really does do well at keeping the 1600 in band, also remebering it has bigger cams, so it still pulls through 7k rpm. It seems to be an excellent combo IMO.

right.... I just assumed you'd be out of 1st & 2nd gear rather quick. But I wasn't trying to critisise here just curious chatting.

It does rev out 1st and second pretty quick, but after 2nd there is only a 15kph difference in speed between 6spd and 5spd, with the 5 speed doing 94kph. The transition between gears is much smoother, and the ratios seem to be better matched to one another, especially 1st to second shift, that seems to be a bit of a step in the 5spd. I havn't sone the quarter or anything so I can't say for sure that its quicker to accelerate, but it really does feel so.

Just explain that the gearbox is old and tired, and while you are replacing it you may aswell add another gear

More piccies as requested :D a couple shots of the engine bay including coolant reroute, the custom front outlet, waterpump inlet, and most importantly the \"expansion chamber\" dodgy intake :D Please excuse the leaky valve cover gasket, I will get around to changing it again oneday...

enjoy

Rode shotgun yesty in the hyper igloo :) and she accelerates rather luverly guv'ner.

And as for the photos, it's good that digital cameras these days are made so well that any knob-head can take good fotos.
