Hi guys,
My name is Tim and I hail from the south-side of the river in Brisbane.
Thought I would combine an Introduction thread and Ride thread.

My First car was a 1991 Toyota Hilux which I bought with blown engine for $600. Many months had past and many bloody knuckles finally I got it running with a transplant engine from a surf. As most know when you build/rebuild a car yourself it will do one of two things, Run like a dream for years and never have a problem, or run fine for 6 months then spit the dummy and carry on. Unfortunately the latter rose its head so my choice of 6 months rego was a good one and moved it on.

Which brings me to my current automobile.
I recently acquired a 1990 Eunos Roadster, 130,000ks on the clock, roughly 100,000 done in Japan.

with the trade in of my hilux it cost me sub 5k, which I think is pretty good with the list of mods already completed.Straight panels, good paint.

Completed mods:
- Whiteline Strut Bar
- Front and Rear Sway bars
- King Springs all round with super lows up front.
- Custom Extractors, High flow cat and exhaust
- 17x8 Advantek Rims (POS Chromies that weigh 6 million kilos)
- Sony Speakers and Headunit (without faceplate)

Due to the owner deciding he would rather have the Headunit faceplate, I pulled out the Sony Xplod headunit and replaced it with a decent Kenwood.

Planned Mods:
- Wheels ASAP, the weight of these wheels is ridiculous, My speedo is out due to the 17s so im looking for some decent 15s, which are quite hard to find in 4x100. Dam all those nice wheels in 114.3 x 4 :( any suggestions on wheels? looking for deep dish wired mesh or drifteks, along the JDM spec.
- Pod filter, more for the noise, i love the noise, might be a bit difficult with the airflow meter but im sure there is a thread on here about it.
- Front lip and side skirts, (paging OMGPHAM, will be hitting you up soon me thinks)
- Door seals/trims, the rubber on the outside of the doors is faded and the metal is rusty, still doings its job but looks bad.
- Tombstone and centre console, if anyone has one, hit us up if its cracked worn, ill be painting it anyway, aslong as the clips/screws are still able to fasten it.
- Another Hard top, I have a mod planned for a hard top but dont want to ruin my good one. anyone with an old scratched/discoloured faded top that still functions hit us up.

- dream is to put a 13 b in it.....

quite a big update with some pretty pictures.

After getting used to driving with my headlights awkwardly protruding the bonnet, I noticed that one headlight was a bit dimmer then the other. I didn’t take much notice until the headlight actually blew. Unknowingly I went to SCA and bought some NARVA H4 “legal-est” blue bulbs. After getting home I realized that the Eunos lamps are actually one unit, not semi sealed like the Australian Delivered mx5s. Luckily the bulbs didn’t got o waist as Dad’s ADM mx5 needed some new ones. I was on eBay and I found these.

Exactly what I was looking for, less than $100 including shipping, modernized semi sealed unit and an added feature that I think is pretty cool.

The outer ring of the lamps have an LED circle or “halo”.

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t drive around at night with these lights on, in fact I only ever use these lights when entering a friends drive way or at a night car meet to illuminate my arrival. XD

These lights are, to be frank, illegal. But so Fxcking cool! The lights are very easy to install with some basic wiring, and also come with blue parker bulbs inside the actual light fitting. I did not wire these up, because I don’t use my parkers.

Quite simple setup. I have my the halos turn on independently from the Headlights. This way I can have my lights up and halos on without the headlights. I have tapped into the power and ground at the cig lighter, ran under the drivers side dash two a blank panel where i installed a rocker switch with an LED. The cig lighter circuit is a great place to tap into as the LED draw little current, is fused separately and the lights will turn off when the keys are removed from the ignition, meaning no flat battery.

Installing a rocker switch with an LED as you can see when you have left your Halos on so you don’t get unwanted attention from Mr Policemen.

The original Number Plate bracket was worn and dodgy. After a while, the bracket gave way and my plate was only secure via one screw.

You can see in this photo just before it gave way, the rusty bracket.
I was trawling the internet looking for a offset numberplate bracket. Fortunately I stumbled upon omgpham.com.

I purchased a offset numberplate from mrpham to give it that classic import look.

Fuel Cap

Due to the previous owner being a bit careless with the fuel cap and quarter panel some light scratches and scuffs are present on the actual cap and surrounding panel.

I was originally going to paint my petrol cap they same color again, but thought I might do something different. I removed the plate and sanded it back to the primer. I did about 2 coats of primer myself, sanded back then hit it with a fridge white. Appliance white is a great contrast against the grey. I also whacked a rising sun miata sticker on there which I also got from omgpham.com

After a little bit of searching I finally found some wheels.
16x8 nemoto mesh (BBS RS inspired) with 195/45s.

I also bought a front lip from the us (option tuning)
It took about 4 weeks to get here(in one piece) after being sent back to sydney as an unclaimed parcel(courier did not leave a please collect card)
Alot more durable as its poly, I can bend it with ease.

I saw you near my place (near Mt Ommaney shops) at a set of lights today but I was in the 323 so I didn't bother getting your attention. I love the wheels! 8)

Little update.
Due to floods my TSI's took a bit longer then i thought. But A week from Bulgaria (of all places for car parts), is still quick.
I got them and installed immediately.
