New owner here, might be able to make it Fri night depending on details. I'll never keep up without a turbo though I suspect!

Hope you can make it!

You'll keep up fine, no turbo on mine either ;)

But the limit is 80 for the most part up there anyway, so I wouldn't worry about being left behind.

My car is on the road again (yay!) so this Friday I am in for my first drive this whole year :-D
Might also have a ring in from Rocklea.

Wow, should have joined Shane and I at the rocklea suspension proving circuit last night. We were back to backing ohlins vs mca red.

FIRST Friday of the month Mt. Nebo/Glorious run

Postby sailaholic » Mon Jun 30, 2014 9:58 pm

Well we both drove both cars ... I thought maybe the ohlins had the edge, Shane thought maybe it was the mca.

So I'd say sufficient detail to say mca red is definitely a competitor to ohlins but not enough testing to get a winner.

I think Shane said mca has a better range of travel but I could be wrong.

I would like to make one of these, but unfortunately won't be this month.

To clarify, you guys meet on Milton Road at 730/8 for a coffee then do the run?

No run is before the coffee. I forget the meeting time it's been too long. Someone will pm you the details.

Remember the mountain zero campaign is still running so expect police attention and you can only be pleasantly surprised rather then unpleasantly.

Last month when we went up we didn't notice any more than normal - but it's not like we're doing anything stupid anyway, so I wouldn't worry.

Interestingly enough, one of the riders in that news article posted above was a friend of a friend - she locked the back wheel of her bike, came off and went under the car, rider behind her crashed into her as a result. At least she was wearing full rider kit, could have been a lot worse without. She's doing ok now though, only ended up breaking her leg (not her pelvis as suggested), last I heard she was on crutches and on the mend.

...her bike? Not so much.
Because reasons.

It's school holidays now, so police are out everywhere. On the drives to and from Lakeside on Sunday I went past 2 bike cops with lidars, 2 cars with lidars, 3 in the process of pulling people over, and about 5 cruising. Between 1pm and 10pm yesterday I saw a similar number. Less cars on the road = less camera detections maybe, so they have to go out and actively look for people doing 3kmh over?
