It was a very pleasant run, I must say, and some intersting vehicles!
Loved the bacon and egg rolls, fried on the barbies while looking at that view
Those guys in all the Minis must have been seriously p*****d off when they got there and all the spots were taken
There's a lot of difference in the road conditions between a Thursday morining Dawn Patrol and a Sunday morning 7:30 convoy! Those looking for more of a "drive", don't miss next Sundays Glasshouse Mountains bash - details now on the web
See you there!

Great run indeed, though was very bleery eyed until about 10am. I got there at 5:50am and there was now one. There I was, by myself thinking Cal had given me the wrong info, but alas the cars started coming ablut 5mins later and kept coming. In all I'd say there were around 40 cars, everything from old and new Lotuses, Westfields, Nissan Skyline, E-Type Jag, and about 10 million MX5's
I had a good run up for about 1/3 of the way, getting stuck behind mr and mrs sunday-subaru driver with Cal and a few others. After a hearty breakfast Cal, Ben (Skyline) and I headed up to Mt Glorious and had a crack of a drive up there, down and back up the Samford Road (got flicked the bird by some wanker cyclist) and then back down the mountain. I've found a new love for the Azenis 615's since I went up there a while back after I'd had them put on. Once warm they've got bags of grip and a very predictable, though not really a match for the Hawk HP+ which when warm tend to grab really quickly causing lockup's.

Mike, that was me that waved and said goodbye from the Laguna blue car at the end. I knew you didn't recognise me as I wasn't in BRG.
Had a good time and could up with a few people. Was a bummer to get stuck behind the Subaru wagon on the way up to breakfast. Was pretty good after that though. Surprisingly little traffic. Well the new car certainly has some dodgy pads in it and could seriously do with a fluid change. Faded after only a few kms and down the Samford road, I had next to nothing. The tyres left a lot to be desired compared to the Azenis on the other car too. No chance of staying with Ben's Skyline and struggled to keep Brad in sight at times.
Good spread of cars as usual. That S1 Esprit certainly moves along nicely with the SR20DET in it.
Cheers,
Cal.

Does this event still happen or was 2006 the last?

We still have breakfast runs but these died when the Marque Sports Car Club died years ago.

I used to be a member of Marque, but from memory it died with Carl Stecher.

I attended the final meeting when it was decided to wind it up. Five in attendance...two of those were from the MX-5 Club Qld.

Cal, it's not too late to resurrect the event.
