I am going out to Willowbank this saturday for a test and tune - anyone is welcome to come along. I will be running my car for the first time and I have never been so don't laugh!
I know quater mile racing is not really mx5ish but thought i would offer.

Heck I took the Festiva down the strip so why not take yours?

Is there gonna be a drag event coming up in the next week? if so then it will packed.
Shoot me a PM with your mobile and I'll see if I can make it.
A friend of mine was gonna go soon, so maybe he's also going this weekend.

went out - it was not too bad at all. I ran a 14.7 at 96mph. The mph suggests a 14 even time should have been done. I did not reduce the tyre pressure or soften the rear end for it as I wanted an every day driving setup time. Also the lack of an lsd and me not doing a burnout probably lost time too. Overall I am happy with the mph by my 60 foot times are pretty sh*t - 2.3 was my best. I did get faster times then a turbo silvia and an r33 gtst.

Thats some pretty good times, with a bit more practice you will improve the times. Did the car wheelspin at all?

farkin sh*t loads!!! the first run it span up through pretty much all of first gear at did a 14.89 - then the second it span until 4500rpm which was the 14.7 and the third it span badly and I had to peddle twice and did a 15.5

yeah drop the tyre pressures. Usually if you wheelspin it increases the mph.

yeah i found that - got 1mph more on the first run. kind of odd but seems logical

well i never made it to the strip today. my intention was to get a smaller pulley put on this morning then take it to get tuned then take it to the strip to test it. We got it on the dyno and about half an hour in or so it was discovered that the 5th injector was not big enough. An attempt to order a bigger one failed with the wrong part turning up at around 4:30. So I have had to take the car back and only rev it to 5000rpm until the car goes back in a week and half. I am not going to speculate on power output yet but we will see on the 9th.

It made 150 atw but the belt was slipping so it missed out on about 2-3psi in the top. I would think about 160-165 will be had once i get the problem sorted. I was attempting to change the belt and sheared the bolt off the tensioner so its only got a really tight belt and no tensioner at the moment. Will have it sorted on wednesday and then probably do a power run and check the afr on the weekend. Its on 12.5 afr so its nice and safe.
