Just downloaded a decibel meter and it appears I'm pushing my luck... Best test sat at 92, but the stab test got like 97. Avg over 4 tests was 95. Still coming, but not confident I'll be allowed to play.

On another note, swung over to the riff today and picked up a new helmet for 100 and a new fia suit for 200! Win!
So lets go!

Talked to the guys at marulan, they have something to silence exhausts there.

10mm chicken mesh or similar (think radiator grill mesh from supercheap) over the tip holding in a few stainless steel dish scrubbers and held in place with hose clamps works pretty good.

Wooden chock under the loud pedal? :lol: :lol:

That's what I was thinking Dann, its to late for a lap of bunnings, I will see what their solution is. If it's rubbish I'll shoot into town and be good to go by 10 or so.
So lets go!

What a great day! Had a blast!

Noise was never an issue, but the POS tyres and th diff that single legged more than a dog with a sketchy bladder certainly kept me busy!

Wasn't the fastest, but I learnt alot about driving MX5s today. I had one or two moments, but other than slightly squarer tyres, cars still fine.

Bring on Wakefield!
So lets go!

Great day out at Marulan. The weather was pretty miserable for the drive down, but it was dry all day and some sun & blue sky broke through around midday. Several MX-5 drivers got to try out my PerformanceBox and recorded the following best times:

Alex 46.95 (ideal 46.69)
Hayden 45.67 (ideal 45.66)
Alex again 47.22 (ideal 47.13)
Sam 48.17 (ideal 48.12)
Scotty 46.19 (ideal 46.16)
Hayden again 46.00 (ideal 45.23)
Allan 46.06 (ideal 46.06)

Alex did a great job keeping up with the turbo boys, thanks to excellent corner speed! Not bad for KU36s. 8)

Highest topspeed recorded was 122km/hr by Scotty and Allan.

A quick comparison of the four best laps is shown below (sorry Sam, I could only plot four laps at a time). Click on them for higher resolution.
Blue = Hayden 45.67
Black = Allan 46.06
Red = Scotty 46.19
Green = Alex 46.95

Thanks for sharing your box today! 8)
Great data, love the overlaid info

Also worth noting the NA non turbo with the hankook r spec slicks running 44.5s, non forum members but very quick through the twistys. Timed with astopwatch on pit straight.
So lets go!

Stock na8 on the hankook "semi" slicks haha!

Though their timing was so inaccurate.

Good to meet you too Justin,
If it's half a second out it could also be a low 44!
I'm thinking of doing the Monday sprint at Wakefield next month, if I get tyres in time.
So lets go!

Hey guys, thanks for coming and making such a great turn out!

Good to meet new people as well as check out some other mildly modified ( :shock: )5's.

Cheers to Bryan who was our Chief Data Engineer for the data; the performance box data is great!

Also big thanks to Hayden and Justin who let me have a ride in their turbo vehicles; I am definitely getting a snail in the engine bay later down the track!

I'll post some videos up later but for now here's a sneaky pic from yesterday.

Hey guys,
That was a lot of fun and the track was a pleasant surprise.
More of a challenge than I expected and well suited to MX5's.
I especially loved the uphill right hander at the back of the circuit.
Thanks to Justin for the tip on the iPhone lap timer and to Bryan for
a go with a real one.
Good to chat with everyone too.
