NSW: Tokyo Drift at Heddon Greta Drive-In - Now Cancelled

EDIT: Run now cancelled, see my post 18/7/06.
Hey guys,
I have read up on the general attitude of most of the forumites to movies of this kind, but regardless I have a proposal.
On the weekend 22/23 July, Heddon Greta Drive-In is going to start showing Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. A guy I know involved with the Newcastle Zeds (ie. Nissan/Datsun 240Z, 260Z and 280Zs) Club is organising a night up there, which may involve a double header with the animated movie, Cars and possibly a triple header with the original Gone in 60 Seconds.
I will be going, and I was wondering whether any other forumites, NSW Club members or not, would be interested in going along as well. I was thinking of incorporating a run from Sydney as part of the event, whether this be an official Club run or not. I have emailed the appropriate Club persons in relation to this proposal.
I will update with news from the Zeds and whether the NSW Club is officially going to be involved.
Please indicate interest and I will PM my plans for the run itself.

WOOHOO!
OK, received confirmation from the Club that this is going to be a Club event.
Going to be doing a recon run shortly to prepare the run sheet. Should be able to provide confirmation regarding date, start time, and route very shortly. Details will also be posted on the Club website.

Just near Maitland. Jump on the Sydney to Newcastle freeway and it's not far from the end of it.

Quick update:
The Drive In is having troubles with the distributors for Tokyo Drift.
The earliest they will have it is the weekend of 29/30 July.
Going to have to postpone until a date is confirmed and then make sure not to clash with the other late July and August planned Club events.
Will keep you all posted.

Another update: The Drive-In has provided the dates this movie will be shown.
Weekends of 14-16th and 21-23. My thoughts are:
1. So that people are given appropriate notice, Saturday 22nd.
2. As it is such short notice, and I won't have the time to do a recon run or prepare a run sheet, that this NOT be a Club event.
If people are interested in doing a run from Sydney up to Heddon Greta, then PM me and we will make arrangements for a meet up point and roads to be travelled.

i'm in, don't mind where we meet (central coast, middle of everywhere, close to nowhere). hornsby's prob easiest for me in the syd area though.
is it multiple movies or just Fast & Furious? and is still with the Z's?
Cheers,
Hayden

OK, further update.
Proposed route is as per the run sheet for the Hunter Valley Gardens run to Wollombi, deviation from run sheet from there to Heddon Greta.
Thinking of leaving Rofe Park approximately 6pm.
For those without the run sheet, and wish to come, PM me, and I'll get the appropriate permissions and forward them out.
Shadow: We could leave earlier in the day and catch Pirates of the Carribean 2 but that would require leaving at about 3:30pm. And yes, the Newcastle Zeds (and one located in Hornsby) will be going to the movie, but whether any of them aside from the Hornsby Zed will join us for the cruise there is anyones' guess.
Those of you who don't want to see the movie, you can always turn around for home either from Wollombi or Cessnock depending on HOW you want to get home.

A significant change in my circumstances means that I will not be leading this run now.
I am still keen to organise a Drive-In night at some stage in the future, but it certainly won't be for a few weeks.

I went to the drive in there last weekend with a local subaru club and saw 3 movies including F&F 3.
Good night out - Highly recommended
