NSW Dyno Day Results 5th August 2006

Well we ran the day in cool, sometimes wet conditions.
23 hardy soles turned up and the results are in.

The big question fought out last week on the power difference between the 113kW NB8B and the 107kW NB8c has been answered.

NB8B 78.4kW ATW,
NB8C 77.4kW ATW.
So 6kW at the fly wheel translates to 1kW ATW.

Best bang for you $5 had to go to Marty. He borrowed Big Dog's tube set up for the SP and ran a 153.4kw on the stock motor  beating the other modified SPs.

I worked out the NC puts out more power with the air conditioning on.

There was a stock NA6 with 72.8rwkw?

Edit: Was that the white NA that ran towards the end? That one was an NA8... Still, it's pretty impressive for a stocker..!

Go the NC :)

If the 107/113kw NB8Bs make 78kw then the NC must put out a lot more than the officially claimed 118kw...more like 125kw.

Huh? approx 80kw (107) for a NB. 90kw (118kw) for an NC. Sounds like the official figures for the NC are spot on.

It's actually more like a 12kw difference, and that's at the wheels don't forget...

Gotta invest on that $5 'T-piece' mod for my SP

The difference between Steven's SP with the T-piece mod and my stock standard SP is 23kw ATW!!! (153kw vs 127kw respectively)

Best bang for you buck modification ever!!!

cheers. wasn't sure if anything else had been done lately. Nice straight curve too, must have decent torque (would love to see the torque curves...)

Your dyno seems to be a bit more generous than the one we use down here, by about 10%. (we'd expect 55-60kW standard, 65 with intake and exhaust on a 1.6)

So if I reached low-mid 70s down here I'd be happy... just need to get that engine rebuilt and a computer and some cams... :x $$$
