MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB – SASSO MEMORIAL RUN – 15 MAY 2011
DETAILS: Join the MX5 BreakFast Club on the Sasso Memorial Run, an early 280 kilometre spirited drive up the Putty Road to the Bulga Bridge Cafe to meet up the Hunter Chapter for breakfast. After breakfast we will all head off up to top of the Putty Road at Singleton then across to Gresford and Dungog before a drive down to Vacy on “b” roads to our lunch venue at Treehops Restaurant in the Eaglereach Wilderness Resort perched high on a hilltop overlooking the Paterson River Valley.
This event is a memorial run for my friend Gerard Sasso and his untimely loss to all his friends and the MX-5 community on 6 May 2010. With the anniversary of the accident behind us, join us to celebrate Sasso’s passion for life and his little red NA6 with a spirited drive up the Putty Road in your MX-5, something he would definitely have approved. The run is also an opportunity to reflect on the dangers of driving on public roads and road safety issues. With the support of individual Club and Forum members, help make the Sasso Memorial Run the biggest MX-5 social run of the year if not ever, as a tribute to his enthusiasm and love of the MX-5.
TREEHOPS RESTAURANT & EAGLEREACH WILDERNESS RESORT
Eaglereach Wilderness Resort is situated a few kilometres west of Vacy high up on a hill that rises above the picturesque Paterson River Valley. On arrival you can take a walk around the resort or relax with a hot or cold beverage and enjoy the view on the deck. Lunch will start at around 1.00pm at Treehops Restaurant. Visit the linked webpage for the resort and view the current lunch menu and details about the resort and your lunch venue. Your lunch menu will be posted the week before the run. Everyone will order and pay for their chosen lunch individually on the day.
REGISTRATION
There is no formal registration requirements for this event. To minimise delays in providing meals we need to know how many to cater for. For catering purposes the cafe at Bulga needs to know the numbers arriving for breakfast at 9.30am. Treehops Restaurant will need some indication as to how many people to expect for lunch at 1.00pm. Lists will be posted on the Forum thread starting from mid April and you are asked to add your name to help with catering.
