BRYAN'S BREAKFAST IN BERRIMA & LUNCH AT CAMBEWARRA ESTATE RUN

Date: 26th June 2011

Location: McDonalds at Heathcote (map), adjacent to the corner of Princes Hwy and Heathcote Rd.

Time: 7:00am meet for sign-in and briefing. At 7:30am sharp you will be asked to "start your engines" then hit the road.

Prepare for a chilly top-down morning of criss-crossing the southern escarpment. From Heathcote, we'll head south via Waterfall and the southern end of Royal NP, then along the coast via Sea Cliff Bridge. We then head back up Bulli Pass and down Mount Keira Road. After a short run on the Southern Freeway, we will take rural lanes to the fabulous Macquarie Pass, and more back roads to our breakfast stop at Berrima. Breakfast is at the renowned Magpie Café. After "refuelling" our bellies, we take more country back lanes through Exeter and Fitzroy Falls before descending to Kangaroo Valley via Barrengarry Pass. We climb out of the valley via Cambewarra Mountain and descend one last time to Cambewarra Estate, where we'll meet up with the MX5ers from the Cruiser Run and Canberra Run for lunch. And yes, there'll be plenty of time to wander around the estate and/or indulge in some wine tasting.

Please note that this is a BreakFast Club run and is intended for those who enjoy a spirited drive at legal speeds. For those who prefer a more relaxed pace, there is also the option of joining the Cruiser Run who will be meeting us for lunch at Cambewarra Estate. A group from Canberra is also being organised by the Canberra Chapter of the club. See the club's event calendar for further details.

Cost: $30 for a three-course hot lunch in a marquee overlooking the vineyard

Reservations: Bookings and payment for lunch at Cambewarra Estate must be received by Sunday 19th June. Please print, complete and send the booking form.

What to bring: Start with a full tank of fuel! Pack a UHF CB radio if you have one. Print-outs of the forms linked above.

Right oh! Now that the Brass Monkey is off our back ( :lol:

), you can start thinking about your next outing.

I need to get a rough idea of numbers for the breakfast venue, so please add your name (and number of people) to the list below.

Don't forget that if you want to have lunch at Cambewarra Estate, you will need to complete your booking form and pay in advance ($30 per person) ... by Sunday 19th June. I haven't settled on the menu yet, but rest assured ... it will be yummy!

We will be meeting cruiser runs from Sydney and Canberra at the lunch venue, so the turnout should be impressive! :mrgreen:

Yeh right, Phil! You'd have no problem at all keeping up. I suspect it's the getting up early in the morning that worries you! :wink:

Right-oh, here's some more news that might tempt a few more starters. The lunch at Cambewarra will be ...

Starter: Camembert cheese w crackers

Main: Alternate drop of ...
1) Lamb Shank w Chambourcin and rosemary juz & garlic mash and green beens
2) Beer Battered Fish Fillets w Chips & Salad

Dessert: Alternate drop of ...
1) Individual meringues with mixed berry coulis, cream and ice-cream
2) White chocolate Pecan tart w ice-cream and cream

Not bad for only $30 per person!

A kids option will be available for $13 each (Pizza squares w salad).

Special dietary requirements will also be appropriately catered for.
