MX5 BREAKFAST CLUB - MX500 2011 BYLONG VALLEY WAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2011

Date: Sunday 11 September 2011
Meet: McDonalds at McGrath's Hill
Time: 7.00 for 7.30am start

A GREAT DAY FOR THE PASSIONATE MX-5 ENTHUSIAST

DETAILS: The second edition of this epic 500km plus one day classic heads north then west before looing back over the Hawkesbury River. Guran led us on a great drive on the Oberon-Taralga Road in 2010 :D and this year Russmax has selected an exciting route featuring the Bylong Valley Way, a road sealed in recent times with the MX-5 in mind, which has not been included in a run in the Sydney Events Calendar previously.

Run to breakfast - This year we start with a run up the ever popular Putty Road including the challenging 13 km run through gorge before we drive into Singleton to allow cars needing 98 RON to refuel. From Singleton we will divert down a B road back to the Golden Highway at Jerry’s Plains then our breakfast stop at the restaurant on Cruikshank’s Callatoota Estate outside Denman.

Drive to lunch:-After breakfast the route proceeds through the ranges up to the Central Tablelands on the sensational Bylong Valley Way for around 130 km to the Globe Hotel in Rylstone for a hearty lunch and bit of country style hospitality.

Home leg:-We head back to the city on the Castlereagh Highway to Lithgow then the Bells Line of Road over the Blue Mountains to our final destination at Delishus at Richmond for refreshments then home.

The MX500 covers around 550 km out and back to the Hawkesbury Region. The road is long with a drive that should not to be missed. Having two drivers in your MX-5 is recommended to minimise the effects of driver fatigue should you feel intimidated by the distance.

Run Leader: Russell Maxwell (Russmax) 0418 653 588
Organiser: Michael Soulos (Midori) 0413 11 33 99

i always shudder to think of the petrol cost on a run like this. Id be looking at 90L minimum.

Lol. Yeah it beats paying 1:60 for ultimate. But you go through it.

Oh comeon... works out to be less than $10 an hour - I can think of alot of other less interesting and more expensive hobbies than that...
