There are current Talks on the MX5 challenge facebook page to try and re energize the catagory.

The current plan seems to be doing away with cams Prodsports 2b 2f rules and go to a times format like the wakefield 300. Percentage rule will be applied to drivers close to the cut off to avoid sand bagging. Times to be based on qualifing times.
Break out during an event you move up a class.

Also there is talk of putting together an official championship, hopefully to give more incentive to people to show up to all the rounds. Based on discussions it seems there are over 10 mx5's who would commit to a full championship if it were to be offered.

By doing away with the prodsports type rules, any mx5 could run. Turbo, supercharged, full areo kited, 13b, v8 etc as it will be all timed based. The cut off can be made to dissallow super fast cars say below 1.03 to keep things relatively cheaper.

Timed based also means those out there with fast cars but they themselves arent that fast can race against others of the same skill.
