I think the car is fantastic and love seeing it run, awesome to see such a serious car out at a club day and look forward to you developing it further

Sorry guys I've only got one eye working at the moment after an operation.
I'll update the records probably next week when I get the OK to sit up rather than laying face down.

Hi CB,
Don't worry about records or any other forum matters at the moment as your health is the only thing that is important.
I, and I am sure everyone else on this forum wish you a speedy recovery.
Take care CB....

Re: Sydney Motorsport Park NSW Club Class Records
OK, records are now up from the Club event on 28 August.
I have Daniel Aplin, Cameron, Verne, Tristan and Denis all setting new records. Some by fractions of a second and others by big margins.
If you know of anyone else please let me know.

I'd like to claim Lou's Type 3 NA8 record at SMP South - I managed a 1:01.50 on 3/10/15 at Rd 7 of last year's championship

From memory Chris your time was set at the hottest time of a unseasonally hot day.
The time would have been a sub 61 in cooler conditions.
That track seems very temperature sensitive.
We pulled the plug there today at the MX5 club track day when the track temp hit almost 60 Degrees C and probably went to 65 Degrees C.
As a result grip levels were poor right from early morning.
Roll on the cooler months...

Indeed. Not only grip levels, but power levels are affected. I'd estimate the car was down 5-10kw.

I did about a 5 minute lap yesterday at South Circuit, towing Paul Byers' MX-5 trailer behind my NC, when resupplying the flag posts with water. Can I claim the "MX-5 and a half" lap record? :-)

Re: Sydney Motorsport Park NSW Club Class Records
Managed to lower my PB by a healthy 2.5 seconds at SMP GP today at Round 2 of the CAMS Supersprint Championship - the Class 4B NA8 record is now 1:44.27. I also (finally!) managed to beat Brian Anderson's previous Championship lap record time in Fanta - that lap record stood for 12 years, so I'm very pleased! Now I just need Ed Chivers' lap record at WP. I'm 2 tenths away...

Re: Sydney Motorsport Park NSW Club Class Records
Phil,
I'd like to claim the Brabham Circuit record for NB8A race car on treaded tyres please, with a 2:15.6692 at the NSW Supersprint last Sunday (10 Jul 2016)
While you are at it, you might as well also include from the same event:
Chris White, NA8 race car on treaded tyres, with a 2:10.2166
Luke Kovacic, NBSE highly-modified road car, with 2:15.6358, improving his previous record by about 1.6 sec !
Scott McGarry, NA6 modified road car, with 2:22.1813
Is there a category for NC 2.5s?
Thanks
David Lawler

See David you should have stayed. I pipped you in the last session.
Maybe it was the lack of turbulence and heat from your car that allowed me to do it.

Now I do believe that Nitto NT01's are 1-2s a lap faster than Hankook RS-3's depending on the track.
Highly modified LOL! I think I have the least modified of all modded SE's to keep it as a 2C car and not bend rods.

Thanks for the reminder

Changed my mind Phil. Remove Luke from my previous list

Re: Sydney Motorsport Park NSW Club Class Records
The SMSP tracks seem to be very fast the last few weeks (when dry) but there can be big variations in track pace there so if you are fast or slow always look at the times everyone else is doing as that is the only real gauge of your performance at this track on a particular day.
Having said that congrats to those who set PBs...
