Hey everyone, watch your speeds on the way down to Wakefield. On the way there and back today I saw no less than eight (8) speed traps :shock:

2 down and 6 back. Unbelievable.

Funny they would have so many mid-week. I drove down to Marulan last weekend and saw only one glaringly obvious HWP (not even remotely hidden) facing the oncoming traffic. Didn't see a single one on the return journey.

Class 10 Should be interesting, Daniel Deckers NC recorded a 1.071 on Nat Soft in the last race at Wakefield Last Sunday. non turbo on slicks probably see a 08 on threads if it doesnt rain.

Most of the officials will be staying overnight on the Saturday. They usually stay at the Bakehouse Motel. Suggest you give Mike Hicks a call to ask where they're meeting for dinner. I'm sure you'll be welcome to join them.

Tut tut. Highway patrol active due to academy at Goulburn. Maybe time for new recruits to be experienced in taking money for government. Road to Canberra paved with gold for highway patrol jack boot.
Solution is to drive early, Poliezi not too keen on sitting in dark with temperature -2C. Especially in boring commodore with crap stereo playing policemans ball.

Truck own highway after dark. Then is the time.

Disagree. There are plenty of times where it is safer to overtake than be overtaken by someone who is doing 0.5kph faster than you. It's such a boring trip, you can set your cruise control at 95kph if you like, and then they'll retrieve you from a tree when you nod off. Otherwise, if you're in the traffic, doing the speed limit, and paying attention to the traffic and conditions, you are going to be in situations where it makes sense to give people room, which means occasionally going over the speed limit. Happened to me on the way home the over day, and of course the cops were around the next bend. Possible fine at like 115kph or something. So it's revenue raising, not enhanced safety.

I tend to speed home, as the adrenalin dies off I get really tired and it keeps me awake. I shouldn't and I try not to, but it happens.
I'll be staying overnight as mentioned hopefully it helps my tiredness.

Except very few people actually sit on an genuine 110. ~120 indicated in my NA is bang on 110 actual and I regularly pass people on that trip.

That and if you get busted, maybe you shouldn't have been speeding.

I agree Tim. I remember when cops used discretion and would let you off with a warning if you weren't being an idiot. You could get away with being 10-15km/h over the limit with no issue; keeping up with the speed of traffic was the sensible thing to do, etc. Meanwhile, you could get done for doing the speed limit just because you were constantly changing lanes, zipping in and out of traffic.

So yes, the push for revenue raising has been stupid.
