I can't believe you can call it a record anyway when you've just borrowed someone else's car.

and surely the 4 digit car number would have been illegal.

Mitch, nice video. I'd say your lines are all very good. I don't know why but I had assumed you were making more power than that. So with an open diff and 70Kw you're doing really well to get it into 1:15s. Critically, every NA or NB in front of you now has more power, LSD, more brakes and, except for mine, less weight. Jettisoning weight is your cheapest option now. I've been battling to stay with lightened cars all day today. With 100+Kg less they can go 10-20m deeper before braking and consistently carry 4-5kmh faster corner speeds. Good driving can overcome a multitude of sins with springs, shocks and sways.

Class 5 – Modified road registered 1600cc

NA6A 1:12.80 Tony Williams 9 May 2011

Class 6 – Modified road registered 1800 – 2000cc

NB8B 1:09.35 Mark Hellmund 9 May 2011

Class 7 – Modified turbo/supercharged, road registered up to 2000cc

What a great day battling it out with Val Stewart in her RX7. I see she did a 1.07.1 while we were going head to toe..I just got back fron Sydney with a new throttle body and 2 nearly new semi slicks to replace the 2 I flat spotted on the Sunday.. Lucky David from Mania had some he wasn't using.. Casper will be back at Wakefield at the NSW supersprint in June and the club day inJuly.. Hope to see Val there again...Patrick.. Nurbushring King.

That was me updating the records. I realised the mistake after I sent it to Dave but I'll fix it after the next record breaking run. Until then what's a day between friends :?:

The day was run with NatMeet competitors only allowed to use road/street tyres with a minimum 180 UTQG rating.

Surprise of the day was a highly modified 2.5 litre Mazda 6 powered NC from Queensland dríven by John Toomer 1:13.14 http://www.flickr.com/photos/tiitsaul/7 ... 9787373079 that will necessitate a change in the classing as big engine and supercharged NC’s come onto the track.

Times set for each class for NSW NatMeet competitors were:

Stock NA: Bryan Shedden 1:16.36
Stock NB8B: Glenn Thomas 1:16.26
Stock NC: Robert Pimm 1:15.70
Modified NA: Phil Mayo 1:17.13
Modified NB: Greg Bunn 1:19.56
Modified NC: Phil Ashton 1:13.39
