HSV is running a track day at Wakefield with passenger sessions http://www.hsvclubnsw.com/?p=305

I have entered and received this reply :

"Hi Peter,

Yes I can confirm positions still available and would love to have you join us.
We have 4 members from the MX5 club so should be a good turn out from you guys.
We are still scratching for more drivers and they don't have to be from a car club or have a race car. If you have any other friends interested please let them know.
Kind regards and see you there

Leon

If anyone is interested contact Leon.

Was very excited when I got the email from the club calling for entries as I haven't been to Wakefield this year, but I won't be able to get the car ready in time :( She came home mechanically a little worse for wear after the MG Club Motorkhana last weekend.

I was tempted but my licence has just lapsed and don't quite have the budget atm, noticed this morning that the Wakefield Park FB page had a call for entrants for this track day this morning.

A very good day at Wakefield today with the HSV and other clubs. Good weather and a reasonably grippy track.

Lots of runs (they were running 10 minute sessions) as numbers were down, with electronic timing and plenty of passenger sessions for those wanting to take people for a run.

I think 6 members of the MX5 club, with three MX5s plus extras.

I managed a 1.13.9 as the old R888s were working well in the cooler temperatures.

No incidents and I didn't see any cars broken, so a good day.

I will put up some more times when they are published.

Wow, only 37 drivers. I hope HSV Club didn't lose too much money. The entry fee of $135 for members was very reasonable too, considering it included Dorian hire. We should try to continue supporting them wherever possible.

Yes, apparently the HSV club has lost some money on its last 3 driving event days, so they were very happy to see the MX5 club entries and will invite us next time they run.

They ran a very good event and the 10 minute sessions give a different feel. The multiple passenger sessions are a good chance to get a guest on the track (at no cost). I did 35 timed laps and did not do the four untimed passenger sessions, so lots of track time.

The timers weren't Dorians, but some other brand of timer. They could be put in the door pocket and still worked, but they also fitted the Dorian bracket.

It was run as a form of Speed off the Street day, so no formal scrutineering.
