FoSC (Festival of Sporting Cars) are holding a 2 day race weekend on August 10th and 11th. As part of this weekend on the Saturday they are offering a 'come and try motorsport' experience.
Details from FoSC as follows:
WHO WANTS TO COME AND TRY MOTORSPORT?
Have you or someone you know been looking for a safe and simple way to try your hand on a real race track? Well here’s the perfect opportunity.
FoSC Come and Try Day at Sydney Motorsport Park.
On Saturday 10th August, we’ll be running a special programme for newcomers to circuit competition, who want to see what it’s really like to get out on the black stuff with other vehicles.
You simply sign up and pay your $100 Entry fee up front, then bring your vehicle – it does not have to be a race car, as long as it is registered (or registerable) – plus a helmet, and non-flammable clothing.
When you arrive you will be guided through the scrutineering process (to ensure your car, helmet and clothing are up to standard); and then you will receive in-car tuition from one of our FoSC Masters, all past greats in our sport.
Set your own pace. Get your own licence.
Following this experience, it’ll be your chance to drive solo around the circuit, with Masters overseeing you, so they can help you “get in the groove” more quickly, safely and consistently.
You will have total control over the speed you wish to circulate at, you will not be pushed past any level you desire, because it is all about consistency and you.
We will provide expert driver instruction and evaluation during the day. And if all goes well, we’ll then welcome you into a special Consistency event with a brand new FoSC Regularity Licence.
For more information on either event, please call or email Charles Jardine: 0418 969 658 or charles@fosc.com.au

Re: FoSC Come and Try Motorsport Day Sat 10 August SMP Sth
Was this on their website somewhere or by email? I might try and convince a couple of my mates to give this a go and if they do I'd consider entering the FOSC regularity (if I can and it's not too late).
Is this event under CAMS or AASA regs?

No Spence not from their website. Emailed to their database. They run AASA events, but their events typically accept the 'CAMS equivalent' licence.
They will still be accepting entries if you do lob in, be good to see you!

Further info from FoSC:
The Come & Try entrants will start with time on the circuit with a Master then two other sessions for solo practice/acclimatization followed by their own Regularity near the end of the day.
It will equal approximately the time a regular entrant receives, but less expensive than a one day entry and with Master’s tuition.
We will accept the CAMS L2S licence and we will also have available the AASA Clubman licence – their equivalent – at $50 for the year.
Sign up at the circuit, complete their form, or get one off the AASA website
Any questions email Charles on: charles@fosc.com.au

I've convinced a mate to enter this and I'm working on another.
I'll enter either this or the standard regularity (if I can find out how much that costs).

So what was the verdict on this Spence? Did they get it right?
