Here's pics of the area from my ADM 1993 NA8 to clarify.
Might be the outlet for the pipe from the intake manifold to the brake power booster that's in question.
Btw, I have proof from Mazda Australia that mine is an Australian delivered vehicle quoting VIN if need be.
When was EGR introduced ? & engine light ?

The smaller hose below the PCV hose is the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator, you can just follow it through to the FPR in that photo of nelson92's car.

The next diagram of the exhaust or inlet manifold might show more about the absence of EGR rather than the rocker cover if you have it..So why does Nelson 92's car have something round on the end of the intake manifold?? It might be a later engine maybe.. I will try and foreword these photo's to the EPA..Thanks again...

ok, now I see what they think the problem is - the round thing at the firewall end of the manifold is one of the other spark plug lead caps. If you remove the coilpack as move it toward the brake power booster, as Nelson92 has, there's space at the end of the manifold for all the spark plug lead caps to rest. Just follow the spark plug leads from the coilpack. Engine in Nelson92 appears to be a correct match for a 1994 NA8.

Re: When was EGR introduced ? & engine light ?
I now know for certain that only automatic NA8's in Australia had EGR... I am still looking for the pages in a workshop manual that can prove the point... mazda would not send me anything..A parts catalogue might also do the job..Any help would be appreciated...patrick

Patrick, had a look at my manuals & parts catlogs, but they're all for non-Australian delivery & therefore refer to EGR.
