Very nice mate! I was going to mount it like yours but stopped half way through as I realised that oil was going to go everywhere every oil change. I'm buy an L-bracket during the week so the filter sits upside down. Should hardly spill a drop!
Also, the metal plate that attaches to the block didn't have a rubber o-ring so need to pick one of them up also.

Andrew,
How quick were these guys to get back to you? I e-mailed them over a week ago and haven't heard from them yet?

I had several emails to and from Tom over a period of a week first reply took a couple of days then depending on the time of day or night it could of been as short as a few minutes

I think Tom is a bit of a one man band just selling the MX-5 as a bit of a hobbie.

The 'stubby' spanners that they mrtion in the instruction would be useful and happen to see a set in Autobarn for around $40. They are not required but would make the install easier....along with following the instruction exactly

Andrew - nice work BTW. Quick question, does the Thomson relocation block have a threaded fitting on it to say fit a pressure sender or the like?

They have an upgrade option for it that allows that sort of thing.
From their website:
New Upgrade for current Relocation Kit owners: This kit will allow incorporation of oil pressure & oil temperature senders into the remote base on all Thompson Automotive Quick-Change oil relocation kits.

Yes it does. Think you can exchange an older one for a new one that contains the port, all the new ones come with the port as standard.
You can sort of see the port on the lower LHS of the block on the first pic
