i might just take you up on that offer one day. i'll take any excuse to take my car for a spin out of town, especially down near the beach

If I was going to turbo an MX5, I would use the same Ford Laser turbo manifold, but with a steam pipe elbow adaptor. It would be dead easy to fabricate. A two inch steam pipe elbow with a simple rectangular four bolt flange welded onto each end. The turbo flange could then be made to suit any turbo.
Hint... The Laser Turbo manifolds for both B6 and BP usually sell for around $50-$80 secondhand and they should be fairly easy to get hold of.
problem with the B6 Laser manifolds is they are prone to craking - I had one here I was going to use in a cheap build up but it didn't work - Suts things way too close to teh water lines, the adapter would be a bit of a mission to get to work properly, I'd just get a whole manifold made, but the RB20 turbo is definately a good thing for the MX5

When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.
