A great result from Brian. 6th outright and second in his class isn't to shabby. 8) Go the SP!

Nothing dramatic. :) They ran it for the qualifying sessions and had some concerns with the engine. Rather than take the risk of doing expensive damage they didn't run it for the other races.

Hopefully it'll be ready for the Mania track day next week. :D

I had an absolute ball over the weekend

We rolled the car off the trailer on Saturday and had a quick run for about 5-7 laps to find out where the track went. Came into the pits and our diligent pit crew Brad spotted that the car was blowing excessive smoke. We shut the car off and investigated to find plugs 2,3,4 full of oil and we assumed the worse however after a few checks we worked out that there was close to about 1-1.5lt's of oil too much which was the cause of the smoke. Dropped the excess and sent Cal out for another run with a now non smoking engine.

That was the last time we touched the car for the rest of the weekend. It ran perfectly and our lap times gradually dropped every time we went out. We qualified in 25th for the main race and finished 18 overall and just missed winning the 2f class by .6 sec from the Lowe Boys.

We loved the track and will definitely be back next year to run Eastern Creek and Wakefield if it’s still around.

Why? If you actually knew the guy you'd realise he's one of the nicest and generous people out there. Sure he may not be quick but he's big enough to admit when he stuffs up, and can actually afford to be out there racing that car, which many people can't as they bankroll theirs and are stuffed if they bin it.

Like who? If you are talking about the incident in T1 opn lap 2 then neither can was damaged and it was a pretty hard to say who was a fault without having the benefit of a replay.
