I got my replacement off Mania for $350 if I remember correctly. It was off one of their imports that was being stripped.

I've still got my old coil pack if you want it - one of the 2 coils still works, not sure which one tho..

I have to rev it past 4k rpm and it goes away...... been reading on the forum and maita.net seems like it the coil pack is on the way out...... spoke to Daniel at mania he said the same thing......

I'd consider swapping the coils out with a set on a mate's car. $600+ is a lot of $$$ to spend if it isn't them.

I recently had a coil go in my NA - No warning at all, just wouldn't start one morning, then all of he sudden it started and ran on 2 cyls :(
When results speak for themselves - don't interrupt.

Anyone know's if NA8 coil packs is the same as a NB8A coil pack ?
Found some NA8 ones....

I recently upgraded the ign leads to 8mm magnecore, so far so good...... cross me fingers but only suffer an idle dip on one cold start......

Hey I have a similar problem:
http://aus-cartalk.com/viewtopic.php?t=17286&highlight=

haha my car has been behaving itself until lately, the last 3 warm start have been rough idle affairs.

Actually i found a ghetto way of fixing it:
- pull out the spark plug lead from the coil pack SLOWLY and then the rough idle goes away :|
- push spark plug lead back into coil pack properly and be on my way.

it's always the #4 ignition lead for me that will fix it

I found out my leads were replaced ~10,000 kms ago.

Brett_MX5 are those coils still available :?:
