Just get a Apexi SafcII not expensive.. and adjust your and and fuel with it..

Should be able to get a few more kW from your car.

mine hasn't missed a beat. 126rwkw @ 5psi.
still a very reliable ride but then again i cant see why it wouldn't be reliable with more boost.
the 1.6's are great motors combined with a proper tune.
get a standalone ecu so then later if you want turbo you already have the ecu.

The ECU controls the fuel injection and ignition timing, which (along with the air flow) is what generates power. The factory ECU is tuned conservatively for a worst case setup (eg bad fuel, worn parts, blocked injectors, etc). So an ECU that can be tuned for your exact engine and premium fuel should net a bit more power.

Plus it lets you delete the air flow meter, which increases air flow and gets a little more power. But without airflow-increasing mods, it'll never be a massive gain.

An ECU is also a good \"building block\" mod - ie, from there you can do many other mods that otherwise wouldn't work with the factory ECU (eg cams, turbos, etc).

It's certainly not necessary to start with though, the intake and exhaust will unleash a few kW and run perfectly well (and totally reliably).

i done full exhaust (extractors, high flow cat, rez, muff  ) and a clod side CAI and only gained around 10rwkw on my nb8a

just to give you an idea.

you can more or less go any turbo kit and have it reliable, IF you stick to low boost.

but they do say boost is addictive
