Intake temps are typically sky-high without an intercooler. The pipework was regularly too hot to touch before I got my intercooler set up. Going the 1/4 mile at the drags was a killer - I could burn myself on the intake piping.

Seeing as you're 20 and you're limited financially, what are you going to do about insurance? Can you afford to pay for a car you've planted into an armco but are still making repayments on?

And about insurance, yes that is a biggy. However, I salary sacrafice the insurance, hence I have little to no salary for things like turbos which are obviously not a legitimate business expense...

And neither are armco incidents, thanks for reminding me of that one Sabre.... :cry:

It is a long way off for sure.

I was actually thinking of Stan when I wrote that!

I didn't realise you'd armco'd something - but I do remember hearing about QR, and seeing your mate driving Shazza and kissing the wall. I didn't want to sound like a parent or something but I realised that I can't afford to be without a car. Your situation is probably different seeing as I assume you bought Shazza outright.

I got my MX-5 already turbo'd when I was 20 and got insured through Just Car (@$2100...). They charged a heck of a lot. I'm now 24, and am paying $90/mo with Shannons so it's gotten a reasonable amount cheaper. Just make sure you shop around.
