A 2000 NB Heritage
OK Next time it happens pure a small amount of water over the coil packs
(About a cup full ) then try and restart if it runs fine then one of your coil packs is on it way out

This is the first 2000 NB I've heard of doing this. The 98 NB happen on a regular basis

Try a set of new plug leads and plugs. If they are the original leads they're probably stuffed.

I doubt it 's the coil pack with that few km. Have the plug leads ever been replaced :?:

Plugs should be replaced every 30,000km and I guess the leads should be too because they get a hammering in a wasted spark system.

Maybe when you re-seated the plug wires at the coil you fixed the problem - they may not have been properly plugged in.

Is it possible to reverse the coils, and thus test against the other 2 cylinders??

You can - you have to swap the two plugs going into the back of the coils, and then swap where the plug leads go in.
