choices choices.... to come on the run or go offshore racing.
why is that life's loves always collide?

i might have to let fate decide this one and see what happens last minute.

Come on the run Shadow. I am predicting fine weather in the mountains but am issuing a preliminary gale warning for coastal waters from South Rocks to Wollongong  . Besides, you have tan seats which is getting pretty close to Camel :P

I'll be posting my NSW MX-5 club membership on Monday and plan to bring my Stormy Blue along for this event if anyone hasn't seen a NC RC by then.

This run is back on top of the agenda for the NSW Club after the Floriade event on the October long weekend.

Make sure you have it in your diary 8)

Check :D

Still have my licence after some fantastic roads out the back of Canberra on a double demerit points weekend.

Great effort by Paul and Greg from the Canberra chapter showing us their playground. Some of the roads are used in the Canberra Rally and would have been fantastic before the fires swept through the forest two years ago enabling you to see what was around the next corner.

Copied all of that C.B. Weather wise it was a great weekend for you guys too - even us sailors managed to keep dry for a change

I am handing over my organiser's role in the sailing Club this season so we will be free for the next MX5 weekender with the Club and looking forward to it

Yes Irwin, usual meeting place for Stage 1 in Rofe Park near Mania. We look forward to seeing you there.

You don't have to pay on the day to join us 8) and rejoining on the day probably depends upon Peter the Treasurer being there on the day so your best bet is to post in your fees with the reminder letter the Club sent out. On the other hand if you have lapsed totally  you can download the membership application form from the website.

Hey Gramps,
Your wind warning incantation came a week too early. Southerly buster came through on Sunday around 1pm, just as our inshore race was about to start, first front hit at about 35 knots and quickly became 40+. with around 2m waves in brisbane water it's the roughest i've ever seen there. in the wash up we had one boat demasted and three ended up aground.
and in the end, we didn't even get to race!
did find out though just how a cork feels though :D

thankfully to my knowledge no one was hurt and not too much damage was done (bar the above mentioned) considering the potential for it with the number of small boats out there.
what made it so bad was that just prior we were getting about 4 to 5 knots of breeze so people had full rigs up, those of us who chanced to see it coming about 30seconds away got sails down quick smart. an interesting day to remember.
if this is the prelude to your prediction i might just have to stick to land next weekend...

Hey Shadow,

You KNOW you should come. We will hit the OPH before the first run and make a REAL day out of it

More to the point, you should be in Newcastle on Saturday anyways for our inaugural North Coast Club meeting.

Good on you Matt, wind him up :P I have already forecast that it is going to be lousy weather offshore next weekend

And as for the weekend weather on the water - I was glad I was not out there myself. I did some work on my boat and timed it to get off before the southerly arrived. Sometimes the forecasters actually get it right

Can't come sorry guys. It's been a long time since I went on a club run. Hopefully soon.

Will be in Surfers instead but will think of you all.
