i should be there i reckon, but i have never been to a track day with the MX-5 club (only BD4's and i hear that they are very relaxed compared to you guys).

do i need a CAMS licence or just get a wakefield track licence?

saturday night?? sleep sounds like a good idea :D

its only a fraction under an hour from my place so no over night stays required.

if you need a place to crash you can stay here the night before if you like matt. only spare room though so anyone else will either have to get cozy with matt.. the dog.. or sleep on the couch :D

Looks like i wont have a bed to sleep in on Saturday night... unless Matt is sharing the bed with you Andrew?

:P

Wakefield Park licence will do it.

I'll also be there for my annual run in Mrs Casey's pink racing suit to keep Turbo Girl happy.

Or maybe not.

My (sort of) brother in-law has also entered and is hoping for a run in his S15 200SX Datsun thing.

Confirmation received yesterday.

Accomodation booked at Mike's Manor, which from recollection, is located outside of Goulburn on the way to the track.

Drinks or dinner planned in town somewhere?

Well what a day :D I got put in group 1 and started mixing up with the race cars  Val was there with her new RX7 and Peter Browning was
back out in Fanta (Now with a big FMIC) but had dramas on the first run
I managed to 1:14.95 but ran out of brakes  ( bendix STD SUCK)
anyway put a set of Genuine pads in. next run I got down to a 1:11.28
and Val got a 1:10.98
on run 3 Peter and Val pulled out the stops and posted time in the 1:09
I could do no better :frown: O well had to settle for 3RD outwright ( not bad for a turboed road car on R888)
the afternoon runs were a load of fun running the modifided Circuit
set a 1:19.79 Peter 1:19.59 Val 1:19.40  Damn 3RD again
Thanks to Mike,Zane and everyone else who did the work behind the scene

What Russ said.

Thanks to all the officials who put up with the flys and to Turbo Girl and Pilsner for the lend of their old R888s. Managed to get into the 1:13's which is 3 secs better then my previous best. There must be something in those R Spec tyres 8)

Renny did well. He wasn't happy until he was was besting his times before the turbo conversion, but later in the morning he was doing that.

I think he was more than happy to escape from the cop with just a warning when pulled over. The cop apparently was looking through the car indicating each defectable item and then told him it was a well turned out car and sent him on his way.

I thought I would have seen Camel boy down there yesterday and Beverley, but apparently Bev couldn't get herself out of bed yesterday morning and the Camel was afraid of going against Lara.

5 months away from the track really affected my times and at the end of my fourth run I was heading well and truly back into familiar territory. I thought I had cracked my previous PB but it turns out I was better in July than I thought I was. I believe another run or two on the current track would have seen my times in the very low 1:16s or cracking into the 1:15s.

'Tis a shame now that there isn't a track day until March, so I am thinking a Mania day or a No Speed Limit day between now and then is on the cards.

Much fun had though, and as always, superbly organised with much appreciation to all the track officials, timing officials, marshalls and volunteers.

What a great day at the track. Almost perfect conditions, cool air and a bit of sun to warm the track.

The 2'nd track challenge was a real Buzzzzz.

Bring on the tripple treat.
