Haltechs E8 and E11V2 ECUs can now control the standard NB8B alternator FWIW. 8)

Yes alot of companys state that they can control the ALT but have seen an E11 in a MX5 that cooked a battery

The Autronic can do it but it has Idle problems better to change to the earlyer 1.8 ALT

Hi Russell - I too have heard many horror stories with alternator field control - from many ECU makers. My car is running a standard SE alternator and there is an NB8B in QLD also running the stock alternator - both with E8s. Just an FYI for the kiddies thinking that there is only one way to skin the proverbial feline. A fix was added late last year. 8)
