ECU for an SE

Postby blackster » Tue Mar 13, 2007 9:47 pm

Im currently at the stage where some form of piggyback/ECU is required to yield better results out of my SE. I would appreciate some input on narrowing down my choice with an explanation as to why one would think one is more superior over another for the MX5.

Locally available and used on 5s.

Haltec Interceptor/E8
Autronic SM2/SM4
Unichip
Wolf V500
EXEDE

Cheers.

Greddy eManage Ultimate?

Not sure if it will work on the turbo, but I wish my Unichip could be modified by me. A distinct advantage of the eManage IMHO.

I've got the Haltech Interceptor on the race car with a electronic boost controller....they used my car to set the Interceptor up to run on a SE.

You will probably find that you have to go to bigger injectors as well....I have 550cc on mine.

As far as I know the Mania ECU is a piggy back semi in house design and is set up to run on the SVT engines.
NC Roadie, NC Racey, ND Racey….and a 30AE

Plus several others in the bone yard...

The Mania ECU is custom work from Walter our friendly ECU guy. :) It's a piggy back and seems pretty effective going by the results. :D

I'll ask tomorrow what kind of gains it provided for the SE.

My SE is running a Haltech E8 as a standalone with electronic boost control and wideband datalogging. You can also run a wideband with the Haltech interceptor.

The haltech interceptor I think is probably the perfect bang for buck for a road car. :)

Kind of.... My SE is a development car for the E8 so Haltech are doing the setup work. The car will be tuned by my tuner once it's fitted. So, because Haltech have done the development work with Lou and my SE's, you should be able to get a piggy back loom for the interceptor out of haltech without much trouble. :)
