Power Window problems

Postby corners » Wed Oct 24, 2007 1:02 pm

Hey all

My power windows seem to get slower and slower day by day. In the past I have used silicon spray on another I owned and that would resolve the problem so long as I kept them lubricated.

What do you guys do with mx5 windows?

Cheers

There is a known problem where the window up/down switch contacts become dirty. You can pull the switch apart and clean the contacts. I am told this makes a big difference. If you do a search you should find more info as I seem to remember a recent post on this very subject.

Dirty switch contacts or old cables are the main culprits. Cleaning the switch is cheap, so should be the first thing to try. A new set of cables isn't too bad though (as far as car repairs go anyway). :)
