yeah... like blue94t said... i wouldn't be taking it to vicroads with the engine bay looking like that.....


interesting how you've routed your pipework there. i'm hoping you checked whether that area that you've cut is structural or not. i have no idea , i'm no engineer. just that it is awfully close to the suspension mounts so i thought maybe there is some load around that area... ?

I hope that there is no dramas at vicroads. I was thinking of getting an airbox in that little space somehow.

The hole was there already, it was like that when it landed in australia. It is right next to the chassis, so no worries with strength as it is basically an inner fender. The car must have been a race car already turbo charged when it was imported. The head has been ported and polished by looking at the exhaust ports.

Well, just removed the turbo again. I am getting quick at it too. Just over an hour to have it running naturaly aspirated. And alot of that time spent looking for bits in the garage. They couldn't find the import prefix numbers so got a couple of other guys out...... That's when they started finding all the bits that i had to remove.

The list...
- Take off all the turbo gear.
- Put all the stock bits on
- Change steering wheel to standard one
- Remove spacers from the front of the drivers seat.
- Remove harness.
As i don't have a standard steering wheel i will have to buy one. Other than that i should have the car rego'ed friday arvo.

Congratulations mate. Now you can start to enjoy the beast.
I highly recommend getting an upgraded radiator if you are planning on doing a few sprints with the car. Best investment you can make in engine longevity.

I didn't get on the dyno. I got down there about 1.00pm and everyone was gone already. I fixed the hose. Would have been interesting to see what power it has. Next time hey.

Painted some stripes on to cover a bit of the flakey paint. Should make it go a bit faster.

I bought a k+n Filter and placed it under the headlight. Getting a direct cold air feed from the blinker intake. I am replacing all the fluids in the car friday/saturday. Full synthetic for motor, box and diff. New coolant and brake fluid too. And i have ordered a set of mintex pads all round.

I just went down to see james at MX5centre and bought some road wheels. What do you think?? They sit in a bit further and are a bit heavier, but they are just to have a bit of fun on.
