MX5 Club of QLD - 2009 Track Days

The 2009 Track Day prices are all based on afternoon session at either Queensland Raceway Ipwsich or Lakeside Park Raceway. It includes timing at both venues and we usually get participants through 6-8 sets of 5 timed laps – that’s more track time than you’ll get with any other Sprint Series, not to mention timed laps. In 2009, the MX5 Club will continue to provide the cheapest Motorsport possible.

So, for what dates do you need to organise your RDOs? Here’s the official Calendar:

Thursday March 5th – Queensland Raceway Ipswich

Monday May 4th – Lakeside Park Raceway

Wednesday July 22nd – Queensland Raceway Ipswich (Please note the change from the original notifications)

Thursday September 3rd – Queensland Raceway Ipswich

Monday November 2nd – Lakeside Park Raceway

MX5 Club members paying 4 weeks before event - $115.00 per driver
MX5 Club members paying within 4 weeks of event - $120.00 per driver
Non-MX5 Club (or CAMS affiliated club) members - $130 per driver

Championship Points

The points will be handed out in a similar fashion to the 2008 series; 20 points will be awarded to each attending member and 5 points for each full second improvement. This encourages ANYONE to join in and be competitive. This year though, we’ve got classes:

1.6L Standard
1.6L Modified & 1.8L Standard
1.8L Modified
2.0L
Turbo/Race

On each track day 5 points will be awarded for the fastest time posted in each class, 4 points for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th and 1 for 5th. This means that if you are consistently quick, you’ll be rewarded too.

Modified is defined as more than one improvement to power, suspension or grip. For example, a stock NA6 on semi-slick tyres will be standard, an NA6 with semi-slick tyres and a Cold Air Intake is modified.

Regularity Points

20 points will be awarded for participation and then a ranking will be made from standard deviation from your elected time. This will require YOUR organisation before each set of laps to nominate a time and have it recorded by an organiser. You can change your time before each set to make it faster or slower, it’s up to you.

10 points for 1st place, etc, all the way to 1 point for 10th.

With the added complexity of the regularity series, VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED. Please put your hand up to help out if you are available.
