The part of the wind blocker that does the most work is the bit that doesn't fold down. If you remove it all together you will notice more of a difference. The folding part makes stuff all difference. I built a wind blocker for my NA. Without the wind blocker paper would blow around on the passenger floor when moving, with the blocker I could leave paper on the passenger seat and it wouldn't move. So it does work to reduce the turbulence in the lower part of the cabin. You'll still get lots of wind on the upper part of your body though. You'll need to buy an NC if your are worried about you hair being messed up.

I have a NBP2 and can pick quite readily when the "flipper" as we call it is not in the up position. Having been used to old British sports cars we were agreeably surprised out how little wind buffeting you get with the car. Perhaps it is more noticeable for tall persons? HKS's car looks good and the Km's also - as a country car it has probably had an easy life- not all that stop start stuff in big cities.

I wont be able to bring it to DECA this weekend, as it wont have the new screen in by then :cry:

yeah, I expected the windblocker to block most of the wind near my head. Meh, no biggie, the whole point was to feel the wind in my hair!
as for height, if I sit up straight the top of my head is about level with the top edge of the windscreen, and my hair is over the screen.

also, it's parked outside tonight, and I hear rain

at least I can check if it leaks now, I didnt see any signs of water when I looked the other day, the owner assured me it's not leaky, and I didnt see any damage anywhere.

not too much rain. about 15-20mins

not sure if it's dry, it spent the night at a mates place so he could take it in to the shop today.

Wheels Balanced and Tyres Rotated. Hopefully no more shaking now.

RWC is nearly done (except windscreen, that arrives at the shop Tomorrow hopefully)

the car shall be back home tonight.

all that's left to do is:

get new windscreen installed - $??? should be near $300
take car to Vicroads for inspection
get it registered in my name - Vicroads stuff will cost $1156.90 (rego + transfer fees + inspection fee)
order POP plates - $125
get insurance - $419 with $2k excess

all up it's anotehr $2000 before I can drive it legally.

minor setback.

cant get it registered today, stupid vicroads need and appointment, so it looks like I'll be dropping in for my lunch break, waiting in line for about 30mins, so I can make an appointment to wait in line for anotehr 30mins tomorrow.

stupid vicroads.

all because Vicroads are incredibly stupid and un-helpful.

I asked how long a vehicle inspection normally takes because I'm only free in my lunch break and only get an hour, the woman didnt even answer me, she just stared and said "there's no lunch appointments free"

I DIDNT ASK TO MAKE A BLOODY APPOINTMENT RIGHT NOW YOU STUPID WOMAN!

anyway, they were incredibly stupid, unhelpful, and she didnt even sound too smart.

unfortunately, I have no choice and need to find someone to take the car down for me and deal with the retards they call staff.

looks like I might have to take time off work, and therefore lose a bit of income, all because Vicroads are completely, utterly, incredibly, stupid!

HKS -in order to avoid hassles the best way is always to have all the paperwork and documentation correct at the outset and that way it will be processed quickly- your delay is not because of Vic Roads failures. The reality is that a person's personal situation in relation to work or proximity to their offices is not their concern. If one gets to their office early- and documents are correct then the service is not too bad.

on another note, be sure to invest in an mx5 plus number plate bracket! that way you wont get any dimples from the stock bracket.

oh I'm aware that my situation is not their problem, however I feel it is reasonable that if I ask a simple question I either get an answer, or even say "oh, I'm not sure"
