hmm, i bought my superpro bushes from mania about 2 years ago (via a group buy on this forum) for about $450 iirc. your quote is VERY high.

i would shop around a bit more

there are probably other places than mania that you could get a quote from, such as forum sponsor wholesale suspension. as they say, it pays to shop around, altho in my experience mania were the cheapest at the time.

i have found my suspension to be quite a bit stiffer and harsher since fitting the superpro bushes, altho i also fitted tein superstreet coilovers at the same time. i think the extra harshness is probably more due to the coilovers, as others who have fitted the superpros to stock suspension have told me that they noticed no extra harshness, juts a tighter, better car. overall the car feels much tighter and controlled, the old bushes were worn out and felt sloppy in comparison.

I think I paid around $500 for a full set, including the sway bar bushes. I fitted them myself.

I actually found that they provided a softer, but more controlled ride. I believe this was because the old rubber bushes had gone rock hard over time.

I've got the same story as Juffa's. New stiff SuperPros are much more comfortable than shagged OEM bushes ... and they make a huge difference to how precisely the car handles. Fatty put in bricks for springs at the same time as he changed bushes.

Erm, it was Fulcrum, plus $750 labour including wheel alignment. As recommended by the club.

Ah, ok. I have had 3 MX-5s over the years and put SuperPro bushes in each one. I bought them all through GT Suspension in Melboune. I think I bought the last set about 3 years ago... sounds like they have gone up.

The mx5parts.co.uk front and rear polyurethane set is $590AUD delivered but does not include the sway bar bushes. Makes the Flyin Miata ones look like good value.

Hi All,

Over the last two years Super Pro Bushes have had two or three price rises, mainly to do with the amount of steel in the MX5 bush kits, crush tubes and washes ect.

I have looked into selling other types of bushes here at Wholesale Suspension but we just can't go past the quailty of the Super Pro gear.

It is the best in the world right now and has been for the last 5 years or so. They now export all through South America and into Europe, some factory car company actually use it from factory now.

It is well worth the extra cash, they are the only bush on the market that is self lubricating and once installed does not need to be re-greased again.

Also the finish of the bushes are the best on the market too, ask anyone who has had them, usually you will only ever get good feed back about them.

I am looking a putting together a group buy on these now, will post up today sometime.

Is it because they are polyurethane or just that particular brand?
I am thinking of getting my Californian brother to send me the Energy kit, although as the diff bushes were not identified as being needed, I wont get them fitted if they are going to be counter productive.

The problem is the hardness. I don't know if it's only that brand or all poly diff mounts.

When installed you effectively turn the entire boot floor into a giant speaker for everything that happens in the whole drivetrain. You can hear the diff, the halfshafts, the rear wheel bearings, all the gears and bearings in the gearbox, even the cams and valves in the engine. They're all amplified together into this huge cacophony of ugly harsh noise. They take around 4 hours to install, but only 3 hours to remove and throw away. Throwing them away was the only good part of my whole experience with them because they definitely gave no gains in any other way.

I have no experience with these, but I would suspect that it may be all brands. I've got the Mazda Competition ones, which aren't particularly hard and yet even they increase noise in the 60-75km/h range, similar to how manga describes, but in their case not enough to be bothersome. They didn't seem to make too much difference to me anyway.
