Need help chosing what to do re replacing rear calipers!

That's usually the cheapest and easiest if you're looking for an upgrade. Pretty much anything from a 1994 model (NA8) through to 2005 (last of the NBs) will be an improvement - just check they'll fit with your wheels if you still have the original 14" rims. Otherwise, getting them rebuilt is fairly cheap and easy (assuming there's nothing more serious wrong with them). Depending on where you are at least one of the forum sponsors should be able to help.

Boyracer has a set of 8b brakes going for a great price. That would be VERY ideal if you are big on your brakes and track your car.. That's what i would be doing if i had an na6! But like mr_q said, having it reconditionde shouldn't cost too much. Try mx5parts from the UK also.

A while back I had my front driver side caliper rebuilt by the family mechhie, he did it for just under $200
No idea on a replacement unit sorry... but a wrecker may be the cheaper option

Not sure what your problem is, but my NA right rear caliper was leaking fluid. I had a $160 quote to fix it. Ended up buying a seal kit ($35 mx5centre) and trying to replace it first, then when we got stuck I brought it to my local midas where they rebuilt it for $80

My job was for a stuck piston, since the mech is a family friend I had a sticky beak,
We needed the caliper rebuild kit as mentioned before.
First, he blasted out the piston with some compressed air,
The piston stuck as it was a little corroded (the dust boot had started to not seal properly) so he gave it a scrub
Put it all back together with the new kit and told me to keep an eye out for future leaks

It hasn't bothered me since

Has anyone snapped a banjo bolit inside a caliper how much was that to fix roughly??

Was corroded slider pins the reason for needing the rear calipers serviced, or was it general a overhaul?

Like many others, one of my rear brakes seized with a corroded slider pin. Cost me $160 for a 2nd hand rear brake from a wrecker. Since then I keep those slider pins lubricated.

$900 does seem excessive. As already suggested I'd be asking for a breakdown.
