You've done about every location in canberra haven't you Jimmy?
I'll be honnest Sasso and say that I didn't take those photos, nor do I have any photographic skills what so ever. Cheers though.
New plates arrived today
More importantly however, got accepted for a rental property today! Not parking outside FTW!

Finally had both the free time and the motivation to have a go at the headlights last night. A mate came round so that I could help him fix a few little things on his car. Unfortunately for him, I got bored fairly quickly and decided to play with my car instead
I wasn't a complete ass in that I still helped with anything that needed two people/he couldn't do, I just wasn't standing there doing nothing while he did all the work.
The dremel was involved in a few stages as were drills, files, bolts that were never intended for the kit, etc; so you still couldn't describe this as a well fitting kit, but it's not too hard to make it fit as intended. Only got camera phone pics to show for my efforts, but the headlight cover now sits as it should. The lights themselves still need a little adjustment but all in all, its pretty well there.

On the new modifications front things have slowed down dramatically. May have something to do with the 'not living at home anymore' aspect but I'm still tucking money away for the car. I've been thinking about wheels a lot recently and while I like the look, I think I'm leaning away from the wide with low offset thing. I've been doing a lot more driving (as apposed to just commuting) recently and the more I think about it, the less I want wheels whose main point is to look good. Instead I'm looking at something more 'purposeful'. I've got the money sitting there ready to order the wheels, I just don't have the balls to fully commit to it yet
Give it a week or two and I will have hopefully made up my mind about what direction I want the car to go.
I'll also be heading out here next weekend. Thinking about jumping on the dyno again, even through I haven't done anything since the last run, as I know a couple of blokes who will be attending that need to get spanked by a hairdresser (wait, that didn't come out right did it?). I'm sure I'll get smashed by almost everything else, but I'm fairly confident in not coming last

Headed out to Ultiamte Tunes in Phillip today for their first JDM Fest. Dyno readings were nothing spectacular, ok, they were significantly below the numbers last time I had tha car on a dyno
What made me feel a little better was that everyone else I spoke to had said they were way down on previous readings, even from that same shop.

Precisely! I've been there, and subsequently i have a sister who aspires to own an MX5 one day

*notches up another point*
Besides, the MX5 really is a great car to learn about the craft of driving. But the true appreciation can only come after he's dríven other, lesser cars, and then the brilliance of Mazda's Roadster will start to dawn on him. Haha!

He's just turned 16 and hasn't dríven a manual car for years, yet picked it up again surprisingly quickly.
Push bikes are his life at the moment so he bought himself a Hiace about 6 months ago. It doesn't have rego at the moment and parents weren't real keen on him trying to learn to drive in a van so I've taken him out a couple of times in my car. It didn't take him long to realise how much nicer it was to drive than either of my parents cars (a VS Commodore wagon and one of the new Sonatas), at which point I had to make sure he understood just how bad is van will be
Trying to talk him into getting rid of it and getting a twinky Corolla or Civic Si or something, that way he still has hatch goodness to get his bike in and has a "car".

exactly. i learnt to drive in manual in my dad's 1983 toyota tarago. it was nicknamed the Sex Wagon / Shaggin Wagon. I have to admit it was one of the best cars i have dríven.
i remember when my dad finally sold it in January this year, everyone was heart broken after it had been in the family for 20 years.
i can't brain today.. i have the dumb..
