Dorifta, Nissans coming with 225/x R16 has no bearing on the popularity or price of 205/45R16, which is what the stock MX5 NB8B came with. It is an uncommon size and is therefore a bastard to purchase good tyres for.

I ended up going the oversize KU36 for both the Crystal Blue & the SP. I got 2 full sets of Ultra High Performance road tyres for $1144 fitted and balanced where a single set of Yoko A-Drive R1s (performance road tyres) cost me $860 a year earlier (PP2s would have been $980).
