#### FOR SALE - TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
I am starting a new project with another guy, he is also building an NB. We plan on making these things really fast. And not to worried about fitting into any group of race category, as we don't care about winning any class of racing, it's more about how quick can we make these things go.. He is a mechanic that owns a performance shop, and i can do all the carbon fibre. So we figured if we build them together and pool our resources and knowledge, we should be able to beat a few of the quicker cars out there. So i am not really looking at doing more NA bits, although i will do the front and rear NA spoilers shortly. Get ready for some NB Carbon Fibre parts.

Yay, I can see my bank account bracing itself!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I am not selling the car anymore. If i sold it i would have nothing to drive till the NB is finished. I had it dyno'd on tuesday with a 2nd hand motor off ebay and it went really well, has good compression. But with a stock head and cams, only managed 108rwkw's. Before it had 143rwkw's. Different dyno's, so ifigured i will know when it hits the track. It definately had less power up top in 4th and 5th. Up the back straight i couldn't get it to rev past 6600 in 4th, before it would pull quickly to 7600 - 7800 in 4th. However i still managed to set a personal best by a small margin. the only other changes where the c.f. doors and the torsen diff. I can't wait to get it onto the track at phillip island and hopefully get into the 1:47's. We will pull the motor out and rebuild my old motor and put it back in. So 1:47 is very achievable at the island, might even put some 225's on the back.

Re: #### LIGHTYEAR'S TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
Do you think the head is fixable from the old engine? It has pitting haf way around the outer edge of 2 of the chambers

I was hoping that it can be welded and machined. As this head has a lot of work done to it.

Re: #### LIGHTYEAR'S TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
I built a new motor, new pistons, rings, bearing, etc, ported head, h/d valve springs, hks intake cam, etc. Hopefully it lasts a while, as i have no money to fix it.

And all back together and running in the car late last night. Still a few things to do before we load it on the trailer tonight for phillip island in the morning. Pity the race day is not sunday to give me 1 more day to work on it. I am off now to get it dynoed, just to check the air/fuel, etc.

Re: #### LIGHTYEAR'S TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
Had a few more hassles and didn't get it dynoed. It was on the dyno for about 3 hrs trying to sort out some issues. In the end we had to call it a day and try again next week after we do a bit more on it. It is very close now. I think all these things went wrong to stop us from getting to the track for a reason. And it is a crap day today, so i don't think i am missing anything. I will be going to P.I in 2 weeks for the Vic Supersprint challenge. So lets see if i can crack the 1:50 mark.

It would be really interesting to test the difference between that setup with a nice wide intercooler and the same setup bit with a shorter intercooler that fed directly into the throttle body.

Re: #### LIGHTYEAR'S TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
It would be better if i had a v mount intercooler with the outlets facing forward, but i don't think it will make a noticable difference on the track. I will see if i can get it welded to face the throttlebody one day. This car will just be used as a practice car till the new ones are built, and then i think i will put an ls1 in it when this motor gives up for some real fun.

Re: #### LIGHTYEAR'S TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
Finally had it dynoed today. Different dyno again, this dyno is supposed to be very accurate. First dyno (high reading dyno)with old motor made 143rwkw's. 2nd dyno (low reading dyno) it made 108rwkw's with stock motor. Now with this new motor that is stock except mild headwork, cam and valve springs it made 131 rwkw's with a very good power curve. The motor is making power all the way to 7,500rpm without dropping off.
Now i have to hope for perfect weather for sunday and see if i can do a 1:47 or better.

Re: #### LIGHTYEAR'S TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
Went to phillip island for the 2nd round of the victorian super sprint series, it was a great day and after it started raining everyone went home. I stayed as it is heaps of fun and a bit scary to drive as fast as you can in the wet. Last session was at 4.00pm as only 5 cars lined up for a run, and they didn't want to stand around in the rain for 5 cars. I had a few issues in the morning with overboosting and the car running too cold 35-40 deg. Just got the car right and it started to rain. So only managed a 1:51. I put the new wheels and tyres on to heat cycle them and they felt good towards the end of the session even tho it was starting to drizzle. It is a bit different to drive as it has taller gearing from the torsen diff. The car doesn't feel as powerfull, could be less power (125rwkw's now), or could be the gearing or the heavy flywheel on it now. I would love a bit more power, but i am confident it will easily go under a 1:50 at P.I as it is now.
Took a pic of the improved engine bay while on the dyno on sat. Yes it was dynoed on wednesday 3 days earlier but it kept fauling the plugs, so had to get it done again elsewhere.
It has all new intercooler piping without all the joiners i had, while the inlet was off i cleaned it and painted it. Also painted the throttle body, and new braided lines for the catch can.

And the best i could manage in the rain was a 1:16 with the new kuhmo's on. I forgot to soften the suspension up to suit the wet conditions. Maybe i will try it next time.

Re: #### LIGHTYEAR'S TURBO NA6 CLUBRACER ####
While i had both sets of wheels off the car i put them together and noticed the 205/50 toyo's where just as wide as the 225/45 kuhmos . But the toyo's are a bit taller. The kuhmo's are exactly the same hieght as the stock nb tyres. They look a little wider, but that is because they are on 9" wheels.

I will try both sets back to back to see the time difference at winton.

The kumho's are a skinny 225.
The specs show them as 208mm tread width for the 225/45/15 and the toyo's specs list tread width as 206mm for the 205/50/15.
Lucky you weren't comparing to A048 as they are 210mm wide for the 205/50/15..
