Took the valve cover off today for a paint.

After a clean and just before painting.

Crinkle black and yellow lettering - waiting for the paint to dry... looks sick.

needs one more coat of the yellow lettering and then its done...

crinkle coat pain is awesome - I was worried when I first painted it as it just looked shiny and black and then POW it dulled and crinkled up for a really nice texture.

lettering was a real pain - unfortunately there easy no easier alternative to painting it by hand with a small brush.

Got the stuff from autobarn.

Black wrinkle coat as per the instructions, followed by the yellow engine enamel. I had to spray it into the lid and then apply with a small brush. Bits where I accidently overpainted (its not easy) were touched up with flat black enamel on a toothpick :) The job would be much easier on the earlier model engines where the lettering is raised instead of sunken.

Nice touch with the cam cover!
