Yeah Sorry I didn't come over and all the others i snubbed as well, i was being a little anti-social and was helping out the guy in the bright green NA and his Mrs drop there times a little. I gave them my performance box to use for the day to see where they could improve. I helped him drop half a sec and his Mrs dropped 5secs so i think my good deed was done for the day. You seemed to have some respectable lap times there Paul. I was watching a few of you in group 1&2 tackle particularly Eastern loop with different lines that i usually take and Carousel is the same line except you guys are doing it a lot faster. These two corners are the ones where time could be shaved a bit but i'm still getting to know the car and i think faster times will eventually come with more time in the car. Until then i have a sprint this weekend (Last as a registered Vehicle) and one on the 30th for which i need to search for a trailer other wise it's back into the SP20 until i find one.

Open sprint was on today. Good turn out, Mind you there was a muscle car show and shine on as well so that mainly brought the crowds but all i can say is at least they were at lakeside. Nice cool day provided performance benifits and that was show on most peoples time sheets. The third run of the day supplied me with the best time of the day. Previously my PB in my cars have been not exactly superb but they were 1.08:78 and 1.09:68 (SP20 & MX5 respectfully). All i was aiming for today was somewhere in the 1.08s in the 5. After having the car in at MX5 Plus for new seals, advanced timing, new heavy duty clutch and NA6 flywheel it was finally time to see how this thing would improve. The end result being that not only did i get a PB today but posted a 1.07:68 beating the 20's time by 1 sec and the 5's by 2 secs. Some proper tyres are next on the list to drop another sec or 2, then i might have a go with you production guys

Re: D-Train's Track Car
Hey guys and gals, just an update on progress since last time. I've had 3 sprint meets since last post and the first two meets weren't exactly great, however i did get a PB on the second meet but it was only one one-hundreth of a second. Last sunday however was a nice sunny, warm and a perfect day to break some records. The first run provided me with the confidence to soldier on and get better with the last 3 laps all under PB with the best being 1.07:18 (half a sec off) then second run was down to 1.07:04 and finally, as usual, the third run provided the best lap of the day with an awesome 1.06:62. Pretty respectable considering i'm still running these Achillies 123 tyres. Need to tweak my line through Eastern loop a little i think, after assessing my logged lines i still think there is a faster way around that corner.

Re: D-Train's Track Car
Glad to hear it's all coming together. The Eastern Loop is a tricky corner, it's taken me quite a while to find the quickest line through there.
What sort of logs are you looking at?

Re: D-Train's Track Car
Its just the ones from my performance box. The lines vary everytime i go through there because i don't trust the tyres to hold through there at the speeds i should be achieving. Sundays last 2 runs proved that, with a mix of over/understeer depending on the speed.

Re: D-Train's Track Car
Hi all just a little update on things that have been happening since last post. Had a couple of sprint days one at Lakeside and for the first time Queensland Raceway (MX5 Track Day). Lakeside was the first of the two, and we were presented with a fine but cool day, not one for good grip. I think 5 cars were damaged due to greasy conditions and we only got 2 timed runs and one untimed due to a massive oil spill 3/4 the way around the track. Very dissapointing day for all who attended. The second was the MX5 Track Day at QR. After a lot of people telling me that QR is a boring track i finally got to run there. The Clubman and Sprint track were the two configurations on offer and both were tricky to negotiate. The best times for each are in my signature at the bottom but are unsure what times guys are doing on these configs to compare.
I did have a couple of things to address though, one being fuel surge at 1/4 tank. I get it mostly at Lakeside accelerating out of hungry and was wondering a good way to stop this apart from adding more fuel. The second thing was that after a bit of very hard driving my power steering tank seems to be spitting out a lot of fluid, there is no leaks in it, is it just pumping so much that it is over filling or gurgling heaps and is there anyway to fix this as i'm not keen on cleaning it up after every run. I dodged up an intake pipe before the MX5 day, sounds good, unsure about power just yet and tires are on the cards soon. Maybe i'll start getting some real times soon.
