Update 6 May 2010
Okay, so the latest update was the old 240,000km B6 was leaking too much oil so I decided to pick up a low km replacement B6 bottom end. Removed the old motor and cleaned out the engine bay 3 times (thanks Steve & Jeff) to degrease with the high pressure hose for the 20years of build up dirt, oil and grime. There were chunks that were more than an inch and a half thick on the front subframe.
Anyway, so now we checked out the bottom end and it was in excellent condition - it was the original bottom end that went with the Yager head out of the race car.
So everything went back together, chucked on the Garage Vary lip and screwed the licence plate to the passenger side of the bumper (JDM YO!
). On to the dyno and ...
93.4 rwkw or 125.25 rwhp (Shoot out mode) with the china extractors & exhaust and collapsed cat! I believe that I can achieve over 100 rwkw/134rwhp if had time to sort out the Yager extractors, new cat and fabricate the rest of the exhaust. There is more compression to be had with the motor as the pistons are not that high a compression IMHO.
Still have the new 'Oldskool' rims to go on and the TB roll bar to be picked up from the powder coaters and installed.
But you guys need to hear this thing at 7500 rpm! Hmm I need video ...
So photos and dyno sheets to come as soon as I give the car a well deserved wash.
Happy Les

Re: Les' NA6CE (Silver)
Latest update:
Well many things have happened since the last update. Some good and some bad.
The bad first. Sent the car to a suspension specialist (who will remain anonymous) to install the TEIN MONOFLEX and for an alignment. Dropped it off mid week and was picking up on Saturday morning so I could have some fun at our Autotest Championship Final Round on Sunday. Picked up the car, just before I get onto the freeway around the corner, I notice something is wrong with the front left and immediately turn off the on-ramp (thank God there was a street to turn off) to stop and check. As I was slowing down, the front left wheel comes off and ends up in my guard!
The disc rotor has ended up sitting on the inside of the wheel and a stud has sheared right off! Only one nut was left and I found another a few metres behind the car. Guard was dented from being pushed out and inside of the wheel sustained some scrapes due to the contact with the disc rotor. Thank God I was not on the freeway doing 100km/h when it happened...

Two of the workshop's employees came to assist me with jacks and spare nuts. After the car was jacked up and they refitted the wheel, I noticed that on their inspection of all the other three wheels, there was at least half a turn to a full turn on each lug nut in order for it to 'click' with the torque wrench. With three lug nuts back on on the front left, we limped her back to their workshop. I told them to repair it to a standard prior to the accident and to call me when it was done. I was too pissed to say anything else and that was probably a good thing as I may have said things I could have come to regret. I was a little angry as I has already missed most of the season when I broke the gearbox in 'MX52NV' so I ended up emailing the 'boss' along with the above photos. However, I did not hear from them on Monday so I rang on Tuesday as I needed to car on Wednesday. I picked up the car and most of the guard was knocked back and they put a new stud in for me. Apparently, the disc rotor was fine and my wheel was a little bit out of balance so they rebalanced it. I have a bit of paintwork that was damaged on the lip of the guard but I am not overly fussed about that.
The moral of the story is to check your lug nuts yourself before you drive off.
I will leave my torque wrench in my car in future.
More updates to come.

Bloody hell Les! That really sucks. But lucky in a way... it could have been sooooo much worse!

Sucks in general but certainly sounds like it could have been far worse.

...continued:
Yep Broady and Jeo, I truly think I was so fortunate...
Okay, onto the good things now.
So after picking the car up and checking all the lug nuts
, I entered a Sprint round which I did purely to gain seat time. As the alignment bolt on both the front lower arms had seized, the alignment was still not done. As I discovered during my sprint, this was an epic issue.
Anyway, I went to drop off the car to my good mate Steve Thomas, who saved my life when I had my big fall and was helping to build both my MX5s. He and I looked over the suspension and realised that the fronts were wound down way too low thereby affecting roll centre badly. The decision was made to raise the front as making the car handle right was priority.
Steve then "accidentally" showed me a pair of used 4 piston Wilwood calipers that would be perfect for the NA6. In fact, the part numbers match the Wilwoods in my Goodwin BBK kit fitted to 'MX52NV'. So we decided that we will make up some alloy hats and brackets to fit the calipers. I think I will copy the bracket on the rear of the Goodwin BBK to space out my rear calipers and go to the 270mm rear rotors on similar alloy hats.
We then talked about the future of both cars, while staring at my new BP turbo motor which was getting assembled.
Without an AFM, the silver NA6 would always be not much of a daily driver as idle would be pretty crap. I only have a TPS as the factory AFM is gone. My wife then showed up to pick me up and when she asked Steve what he thought of the silver car and he replied with a grin:"It's a race car with licence plates!"
Oh and I only have the screen shot computer image of the dyno sheet which will do for now I guess.

Not bad for a 1.6 with stock bottom end. I must take a video soon as the Yager throttle bodies sound awesome
More to be had in future...and more pictures I promise.

Re: Les' NA6CE (Silver)
Update Saturday 24 July:
Well the silver NA6CE now has some new parts and some work done earlier in the week:
1. New alignment cam bolts all around (the front ones had totally seized inside the factory bushes and had to drilled out!)
2. Complete set of SuperPro adjustable bushes
3. 15" x 8" Axis Racing Oldskool rims fitted
4. 205/50/R15 Bridgstone Potenza RE001 Adrenalins fitted
5. all wheel balanced and rocking 3 degrees camber out front
Whiteline Adjustable anti-roll bars and adjustable endlinks were going in but I let a customer have the set as the customer comes first!
I will put them on when the next order arrives in a week or two.
Here are some teaser fitment pictures:

Actually now that the wheels and GV lip look so good, the dent and damaged paint (was this way when I got the car due to the usual licence plate brackets being squashed) on the front bumper is glaringly obvious!
I am considering getting it fixed and resprayed before I take some really good photos with the expert club photographers...

However, when I picked up the car from Kerry at Bridgestone Bentley, he mentioned that the car was not running on all cylinders and wondered if I had any spare spark plugs for it. Great minds think alike as I had just bought a box of NGK BKR6E11 plugs and brought 4 with me for a swap. Engine fired up on all 4 cylinders but as it was very cold, all I did was a drive around the block to see if anything was touching.
Apart from a few slight touches that I felt, it was actually quite good to drive and felt very stable. By the way, I raised the front height of the car as it was certainly too low for any real handling abilities. So I happily drive home on Monday and left the car till Friday evening when I felt like a drive.
Started it up and it was running on 3 cylinders again. Checked plugs and they were all fouled black again. Was it too much gap or did Steve put in a different heat range? Swapped to a different set of plugs with less gap and no luck - it is still fouling plugs. Motor is running too rich...so what is different or has stopped working? Thought about it for awhile and came back realising that only a few things could cause it. Checked all the wiring to the ECU and sensors. Then thought about the TPS and true enough it had gone open circuit ...
Anyway it was too dark at this stage to do anything else and I knew I should be concentrating on getting MX52NV ready for Saturday's Autotest so I left the silver car alone and will have to sort it out this coming week. *SIGH*

Re: Les' NA6CE (Silver)
Looks like a very busy week at work so I have not been able to sort out the TPS yet.
However, since I do not have a garage section for MX52NV anymore, I thought I would just post here for any updates.
Anyway when I came home, I was pleasantly surprised when my latest addition arrived.

It is a used AIM MyChron3 Gold Auto Dash Logger (8mb built in memory) with the built in lateral G Sensor for track mapping.
I really dig the current gear display.

Apparently it retails for $1200 but the seller only wanted less than half so it is now mine.
This will get rid of all the electronic warning A'PEXi boost, water temp, oil pressure and temperature gauges and my entire dash which includes my rare AWD Version CRk meter face.
In fact, I should really start putting up my other spare parts for sale like:
- used KYB AGX shocks and King Springs
- Mines B63H VX ECU
- JDM factory optioned MOMO 'wood' steering wheel and handbrake
- Familia GTX Valve Cover
I'll take some photos and post it up in the for sale section.

Update 8 August 2010.
Just finished with a few things under the bonnet and took some photos.
Current engine bay shot.

And finally a photo of the whole car...

For those too lazy to browse the rest of the thread, I am running TEIN MONOFLEX, SuperPro Adjustable Bushes (full kit), Whiteline Adjustable Anti-roll bars and Hein-Joint End Links. Rims are Axis Racing Olkskools 15"x8" with 205/50/R15 Bridgestone Adrenalin Potenza RE001 (thanks Kerry @ Bridgestone Bentley). Front is running 2.5 degress negative camber and just touches the inside guard bolt on the top. I may just remove those bolts on each side. The best part is that tyes are still within the guards albeit pretty flush.
Upcoming:
New Lucas brake pads and DBA slotted & cross-drilled rotors going on Wednesday.
